I thought this warranted writing after the previous story. Note the
tag, for it shall appear on all stories of this type. Thank you.

Infinite Misdirection

Anara looked at her screen, the glow casting eerie shadows across
her face. She typed in another set of coordinates and hit the execute
button. Yet again a young man's life was thrown into turmoil.

My job is a thankless one, that's for sure. As a matter of fact,
the only critic of my work is the subject I'm assigned to. He never has
anything good to say, in fact, he has said some rather disturbing stuff
over the years. However, it is a job that must be done, so decreed the
Creators.
I watch as Ryoga walks down a different street than the one he was
just in. His confusion is very apparent, as is his annoyance. I think
I may have went a little too far taking him from Tibet and tossing him
very carefully into the streets of Nome, Alaska. Unfortunately, I was
getting a cig' from my purse, so didn't pay all the attention I should
have been on what buttons I was pushing. I shrugged though, he's just
lucky I didn't unceremoniously toss him into the Pacific or something.
Though, through past experience, I know he can cope with that. Anyway,
I doubt he would consider himself 'lucky' in any way.
I look at Ryoga as he walks into a local pub to ask for directions,
and where he is for that matter. He seems only midly surprised by the
answer he recieves there. I smile at this. Maybe I should give him
something to be surprised about? No, I'm not an evil person. I only
truly redirect the poor boy when he's been bad. When he's good, or
frustrated, I usually put him on the right track. So, this in mind, I
type in the number for the place he wants to go most in the world,
besides Akane's... well, the second place, let's just say. Tokyo,
Japan.
It looks as though Ryoga is stepping through a slight distortion in
space from my monitor. However, in his world, nothing is seen at all.
Ryoga can only tell he's shifted by the sudden change in surroundings.
I gave him a headache from moving him from such a high to such a
low area. I figured I owed him one. Though, he'd better make the best
of this lull, for once he's there and leaves for a moment, whoosh! Off
to only I know where.
Once Ryoga has established where he was, he let out an incredible
hoot of joy. I smiled slightly as I watched his somber mood melt into
one of exquisite ecstasy. He was really a nice boy at heart, I feel a
little guilty for making his life a living hell. It brightens me when
he looks so happy. I always fantasize about what it would be like to
meet him in person. Then, I remember what he can do to a tree and shove
aside those thoughts.
I am brought out of my daydreaming by some chanting from the
screen. I look to see Ryoga allready at the enterance to the Tendo
Dojo, spouting some usual junk about how the Gods must be smiling on
him.
Okay, so I was wrong about not ever getting anything good said
about what I do.
See, contrary to popular belief, Ryoga has an amazing sense of
direction. He can always find the best way to go. What people usually
think is him getting lost, is actually him taking the quickest route he
knows. I'm the true problem behind this poor boy.
A truly thankless job. Or is it?
END
Hope you liked it. C&C most appreciated. Remember, look for the
further adventures of the TSC in the future. Thank you.
