Actually, Richard Lawson's series "Magic" deals with the curses
(especially Ranma's) as a destiny type deal.  That there is no possible
way for him to get rid of it aside from unloading it onto another (and
the responsibility with it).  I don't want to get into too much detail
so as not to ruin it for anyone (if you haven't read it, do so).
Anyway, I think there are other fics that deal with it in this manner,
but this one rests formost in my mind at the moment.  My 2 yen has been
tossed.

On a similar note, yours truly did also pulled something to make the curses
uncurable in my Here We Go Again fic.  I said that the essence of the curse
is CHANGE, so it had to change something.  Of course, I think I went a
little overboard on that "man-water's like acid to men" bit....but hey, it
worked.
