Okay, this is directly snipped from my editor comments to tomorrow's
Synopses List. I decided it would be better to post it seperately to
the List, because I felt it unfair to those who had synopses in that
List.
[Now seems like a good time to ask. Who uses this List? This is
the eighth one, and I'm STILL disappointed at how many authors
send me synopses. I appreciate those that do send, but why
don't the rest of you help out? Do you use this List? If you do,
why don't you send synopses when you write stories?]
[I don't mind SPENDING my time doing this, but I DO mind WASTING
my time compiling this. It's time for you people to evaluate whether
or not you really want this service. If you do, then send synopses. It
doesn't matter if you don't think it'll help you get your
story read, that's only one of TWO major reasons behind this List.
The other reason is so that readers can choose which stories to
read. Think about it, eh?]
I truly suggest you comment. Don't spam the FFML unless you think
the group should hear it. Am I angry? No. But I am disappointed. A
synopsis takes bugger all time to write, you know. Sure, this is all
volunteery, but still...
Holier than thou? Perhaps. It is just time to be blunt. Asking never helped.
Begging bloody well didn't either. The List can continue as is, with at
best 50% of the FFMLs stories synoped every week. But I want it to be better.
Can you blame me? I put time into this List. I put effort into it. I want it
to be more. Much more.
