This is just a minor nitpick.. or it could be major one. Depends on
your
point of view. But folks.. can we learn how to spell? Especially
names?

I agree completely and I'd like to add to this.

I have a list of FOUR things we all need to learn to do better with:

1) Series creator names. I don't know how many times in the last few
weeks I have yelled at someone for misspelling Takahashi Rumiko's
name in the disclaimers. Folks, there's no sense in this.
2) Character names. If you don't know how to spell it right, ask
someone. Ranma's family name is NOT Soatome! Kunou's ninja's name is
NOT Satsuke!
3) Japanese words. While it's respectable to want to broaden your
horizons by implimenting Japanese vocabulary into your fanfics,
misspelling words will not help your image one bit! Simple words like
"Ohayou" and "Okonomiyaki" are constantly getting misspelled in
fanfics (last night I read one where the author spelled this
"okynomiyaki"...and believe it or not I've seen even worse). If you
don't know how to spell a word, LOOK IT UP, or ASK SOMEONE!
4) And finally, special attack names. These are pretty much
unavoidable in fanfics sometimes--but do learn how to spell them. If
you don't know how, again, *ask* *someone*. Hell, e-mail me and ask
*me*, I'll be glad to give you the correct spelling of just about
anything you plan to use.

Okay, I'll quit ranting now. Saraba da!
