Ever love an anime so much that you just COULDN'T write a fanfic about it?
 There's no anime out there that can compare to how much I love Fushigi
Yuugi, and I think that's why I was never able to write a fanfic on it.  I
had set the stage for a Fushigi Yuugi vs. Ranma crossover at the end of
Ranma: Prom Night, but then my friend said something intersting to me.
 "Don't write a Fushigi Yuugi fanfic!  It's already perfect, you'll just end
up screwing up the characters!"  I dismissed her at first like I usually do
^_^ but...  I've seen up to eps 44 and the OAV's, and I think the story is
complete and for nearly all intents and purposes, perfect.  There's nothing I
can do to expand the story.  Sure a silly Ranma vs. Fushigi Yuugi fic would
be fun, but for me at least, I'd feel it'd be pointless writing it.  Ranma
and Sailor Moon have great characters but never go too much in depth on the
characters, making it prime fanfic fodder.  But FY to me, is untouchable...
 ANyone else ever feel this way?  Now, onto C&C on the two new FY fanfics...
 Some spoilers too maybe so stop reading here if you don't wanna know.
Alwyas, Forever occurs after the end of the TV series I'm assuming right?
 Because I think Miaka does forget about Tamahome and everyone at the end of
the OAV's.  I liked it, it was a solid story that told the story it wanted to
tell, Miaka's life without Tamahome, well.  I think you mentioned
disappointment regarding 37-44, but I really loved to see how Miaka acts in
the real world setting.  It was great seeing Miaka in the real world, even if
it was just an illusion.  I liked to see how Miaka acts in the real world
WITH her memories of everybody more.  But at the same time, I think the
greatest thing about FY is all the terrific characters.  I'm probably
nitpicking here, but the story almost "just" Miaka doesn't touch me as much.
 All in all, although I'll never write an FY story, this gives me reason to
want to read more FY fanfics.  ^_^
I've only read the beginning of FY vs. Ranma, but the thing I'm having
trouble with it is placing where it occurs, even in a what if setting.  I
don't know if the author has finished watching FY yet, but if Miaka's back on
earth with Yui-chan, then just about all the seishi are dead.  Hotohori,
Nuriko, (God I miss em), Chiriko, and Mitsukake (don't miss em as much) all
bit the dust.  If this is after the TV series, there's alot of intanbigles
and ramifications regarding things if Nuriko didn't die in 33, and so on.
 I'll C&C more thouroughly after I finish reading it.  All these things aside
though, the characters seem in character, which is terrific because if you
jacked up my FY characters, I'd be after you with pitch forks and torches.
