I have gotten enough response from this Idea that I will attempt 
it. This is a character summary about the new person joining the
crew. 
  This takes places somewhere before "Nine Princes in Amber", and 
during the middle of the Manga series. I don't know, I haven't 
read them all.

Nagataka is avery serious man. He was born in the shadow of Daiwa. 
He was raised mostly by his mother, Miyabe Asagiri, in a setting 
very similar to feudal Japan.
  Her clan is that of the Red Dragon. She and Eric were wed, and 
from that union came Nagataka. He spent twenty years studying 
under the family Samurai, blacksmiths, courtesians, wizards. He 
was being goofed to be the ideal leader. 
  Nagataka took all this quietly. He bore the responsibility with 
stoicism. He learned all that was put before him. However, he 
really took to the Martial Arts. 
  When he was 25, he was taken by his father to Amber and was 
shown the Pattern there. It was then that he walked it, with 
guidance from his father. 
  From there, his life took on a consistent cycle.He would wander 
into shadow for a period of weeks to months, then return. While in 
Amber, he was given several missions to perform for his father. 
  He performed everyone of them using his entire soul. This does 
not mean that every errand was successful. He has had his fair 
share of problems.
  He does not get along with all of his family. Only two, 
actually. He is a dedicated young man of 100 some years. He 
attempt to show respect to all, but due to his culture it does not 
always translate well.

  No, I don't know if I'll make _any_ members of Ranma 1/2 
Amberites.
  Yes there will be a (cosmic) threat that Nagataka has to handle.
