Yes, the list is down. It will be up Soon. If you have posted a message
asking if the list is down, may the deity of your choice have mercy on
you, because I won't.

Why is the list down? Allow me to explain via a rather laboured analogy.

The FFML is like a mildly demented chihuahua. If you make a noise at it,
it yips back. If you make lots of noice at it very fast, it yips
frantically and then falls over as it's neural synapses freeze from over
excitement.

Now, in it's little demented chihuahua brain, the FFML suddenly remembered
that last monday people had made noise at it, and it hadn't yipped back.
So it started making up for lost time, in addition to the current traffic.
And, rather predictably, it's neural synapses froze up and it fell over in
a coma.

What irritates me is that many of the monday messages were "is the list
up" questions. So many, in fact, that I haven't had time to yell at all
the culprits yet.

The list went down largely because of your "Is the list down" posts from
the last monday crash. Are you beginning to understand why such posts are
discouraged?

I'll be talking to those of you who posted test messages.  I don't think
anyone will be banned this time.
