Only the authors of the fics in question know why it wasn't 
considered as an option.  I would tend to think that it would be 
somewhat OOC for most of the female characters (except perhaps 
Nabiki) to even consider abortion except in the direst of 
circumstances.  

I'm also inclined to believe that the author of a fic which broached 
this issue would be flamed bigtime.  (think the RAAF 'Bitter End' 
flamefest on steroids :)  

So why aren't retrying and failing considered as options either? :P
