Yaoi DEFINITELY has sex- trust me... that's why I call FFriends yaoi, b/c of
part two more than part one...
*giggle* Usually (in manga, neways) a few panels with head thrown back in
ecstacy type of thing b/c of the law about not showing actual stuff, but
there is definitely lots and lots of sex. *grin*

I agree completely.  There's definitely A LOT of sex in Yaoi.  In fact, all
of the Yaoi I've seen so far have sex in it.  I believe that m/m
relationship with more feeling and romance is called Shounen Ai, and even
those may have sex in it.

The difference b/w yaoi and slash (and this is debated - oh my, how this is
debated) is that yaoi is more to the physical relationship, while slash is
very brainy angsty. Two different approaches to a situation, both female
wish fufillment. However, this does not hold true in all cases (at all) but
is usually reflecting the culture it is born of- ie, the Japanese women
doujinshi artist/novelists will look at the relationship in one way (w/lots
of sex and physical contact) while the Western woman writer/comic artist
will look at it another way (more angst and confessional stuff)

I guess I hadn't seen enough Western woman writer/comic artists' work to
make a judgement on this one but it seems that all the yaoi mangas I've seen
written by women so far involves a lot of angst and confessional stuff (i.e.
Ran Han Sha) and I recall that one of them doesn't even have sex in there
(i.e. Hoshino Kana's In Search for Fallen Angel).  But anyways, I like angst
with sex in it but if given the choice, I prefer sex more *shrug*.  Just
throwing in my two cents here *grin*.
