So why do people find it so easy to write lesbian relationships, but then
choke at the idea of male-male? (whistles as he hides one or two of his
own fics). Bit of a double standard really, in my opinion. 

My own theory is that it's because fo the way even straight women relate
to eachother. Women just tend to be much more comfrotable expressing their
feelngs to one another, as well as beign far more touchy-feely. I mean,
its not at all uncommon for to (both female) friends to give each other a
hug, right? Yet if two _guys_ every even thought about doing that, soceity
would instantly slap all sorts of labels all over them. That and  know
that personally I have a much easier time accepting lesbians just because
I've known a couple very well, and some of my best and closests firends
are female bi-sexuals. I have nothing against gay guys, I just happen to
know more women who are more open about sex and exploring their sexuality.
