I finally figured out how to change the "from" section in my posts, so I
don't have to use my Dad's first name anymore!

Ranma
1/2 and Gundam Wing.

For myself, I don't think you can be true to the spirit of both series and
have a cross >over. Granted there is "Mobile Suit P-Chan" but that goes a
long way to prove my >point, I think. Ranma is light hearted fun with
generally irresponsible people. >Gundam is angst on a solar scale.
Especially Wing. That makes Zeta gundam >look cheerful. Gadzooks!!

You could do it, I'm sure.. but if one really wants to do dark fic why not
go for a >straight darkfic. Gundam Macross for example, or Iczer Gundam.
(Hey, that >sounds cool actually, anyone want to take it? I'm too busy
myself.) Part of it is, I >really don't like Ranma dark fics. I've read
many out there that were well done, and >I liked individually (Hi Zen!), but
as a genre, they aren't really my cup of tea.

If you think you can pull off a fusion of the two, go for it. But don't ask
me to get >excited about it. Sorry.

Well, I've been thinking about this. I might have been too harsh. After
all, had anyone asked if you could do a Dystopian version of Ranma 1/2 that
was true to both genres I would have laughed in their face. And I would
really have missed not being able to read "MInistry of Confusion" by Stephen
Gagne. So if you want to write this, and you think you can pull it off, go
for it! I'm actually starting to look forward to it. Good luck.
