'attitude problem'... ^(^

Personally, I like a lot of the darkfics that pop up from time to
time. Some are even funny, such as "Black Lemonade". As for the
comment about "Clothes Make The..." this is one of the better fanfic
series to pop up this year, in my opinion. It explores a side of
Ranma that we rarely ever see.

I have to say that I also rarely C&C. I have little time if I'm
to read what interests me and also actually *watch* some anime
occasionally...

I rarely read Ranma or Sailor Moon stuff; the former because it's
very hard to capture the Takahashi-style insanity which for me
*is* Ranma, and the latter because I simply don't know the anime
at all... And some others I either don't know (YYH, Evangelion,
Escaflowne, YYH) or simply don't like (Streetfighter springs to
mind here).

As I also don't care for 'darkfics' I tend to avoid those as
well. Granted this means I no doubt miss some good stuff, but my
time remains finite... (Having said that, I still intend to get
round to reading Mr. Lawson's 'Transformations' as I'm told it
was exceptionally good...)

I tend to concentrate on fics that relate to my favourite anime
series - BGC, OMG, Devil Hunter Yohko for example - because I can
at least say something meaningful about them...

(BTW, Dave, how's Chapter 5 of Bubblegum Ragnarok coming along?)

Although I am currently really enjoying the ongoing
Ranma/Generation X crossover by. It's hysterical!

If everyone wrote their fanfics in perfect Takahashi style, with
perfect Takahashi stories, then fanfiction on the whole would be
pointless. (OK, I'm only referring to Ranma fanfics at the moment...
anyway...)

Each to their own, say I. In principal you're right, I guess, but
basically I *prefer* her style for Ranma than someone else's
version of the characters...

The point of fanfiction is to take the characters into new situations
that NEVER occurred during the manga/anime series. If you can't deal
with this concept then you really don't need to bother to begin with.

New situations? Granted. But I still have my preferences about
the *type* of situation. That's why I avoid stuff that doesn't
appeal. The recent Nerima 'seppuku' stories come to mind; they
may well be excellently-written and with a most persuasive case
for the actions in question to be in-character - but for *me*
that sort of darkness simply isn't Ranma...

OK...<hands everyone a book of matches> Flame on.

Ah. The Human Torch. Lee & Kirby Rule, OK...

But surely not. We on the FFML are much to civilised to start a
r.a.a.m-style flame-war...

Surely...
