For myself, I don't think you can be true to the spirit of both series and
have a cross over.  Granted there is "Mobile Suit P-Chan" but that goes a
long way to prove my point, I think.  Ranma is light hearted fun with
generally irresponsible people.  Gundam is angst on a solar scale.
 Especially Wing.  That makes Zeta gundam look cheerful.  Gadzooks!!

You could do it, I'm sure..  but if one really wants to do dark fic why not
go for a straight darkfic.  Gundam Macross for example, or Iczer Gundam.
 (Hey, that sounds cool actually, anyone want to take it?  I'm too busy
myself.)  Part of it is, I really don't like Ranma dark fics.  I've read many
out there that were well done, and I liked individually (Hi Zen!), but as a
genre, they aren't really my cup of tea.  

If you think you can pull off a fusion of the two, go for it.  But don't ask
me to get excited about it.  Sorry.
