Wait a minute. Ryoga has never run around with sharp pointy things aimed at
Ranma...nor has he kidnapped Akane. And while Mousse has absolutly no
redeeming qualities whatsoever, at least Ryoga is Ranma's friend. (Well, as
close to a friend as Ranma is going to get...)
He has *so* chased Ranma with pointy things; remember his
bandannas and belt? If you want to get nitpicky, no, they aren't
exactly pointy, but they have a sharp cutting edge. And there's that
umbrella. Besides, sharp pointy objects, heavy blunt objects, what's
the diff? Both are dangerous.
What's the difference??? Big, heavy, blunt objects can't put someone's eye
out!!! _THAT'S_ the difference!! ^_-
"Absolutely *no* redeeming qualities *whatsoever*"? You have to
admit that's a bit harsh. Believe me, *everyone* has redeeming
qualities.
Okay, I have always been a bit harsh on Mousse and Shampoo. That was just
my personal bias, and I can't see any redeeming qualities with in Mousse.
At least Shampoo has saved Akane a few times.
Now that I think about it, have there been many fics that explore the
friendlier side of Ranma and Ryoga's relationship?
I recall one fic entitled "Her" (I forget the name of the
author) where Ranma and Ryoga get in touch with the spirits of their
Jusenkyo curses and then, oddly, become best of friends. Then Ranma
changes himself permanently into a girl of his own free will and becomes
Ryoga's *lover*.
FYI, "Her" was written by Robert Morrison.
There was another one (I forget the author again, but the title
was "Blood Fire" or something like that) where Ranma doesn't wait to
become a girl before being Ryoga's lover... ^^;;
Ummm....I was thinking less along the lines of romantic/sexual friends, and
more along the lines of regular, non-sexual friends. Something like a
"Ranma's Girls" Ranma/Ryoga relationship, only set in a 'regular' Ranma world.
(BTW, I just finished Ranma's Girls. _HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!_ So
good!!!!!!!! It's beautiful!)
