Note: Yes this is another Ranma Fanfic. But this one has two main characters that you would never thought would be starring as main characters. Plus, I don't know exactly what happened in the ordeal, so I'm clutching at straws when it comes to plot points. And this story shows what would happen if the whole Hinako incident never happened. Stuff between asterisks '* *' denotes thought. Legal Junk: Ranma characters all belong to Rumiko Takahashi-sama and the comic book company that distributes it and Viz. And all the other stuff belongs to whoever owns them. "Hold on my heart" belongs to Genesis, Hit and Run productions, and whatever company published the album. Revision 1 Notes: Well, I searched and corrected a few mistakes, added a song at the end and made a few things more clear. Well, enjoy. ______________________________________________________________________ Ranma 1/2 A Time for Tendou Chapter 1 The Set-Up Revision #1 A Nicefic by Shiroi Kuma-sama Aka Christian Clark Time: A few days after Ranma's and Akane's "bombed" wedding. As you begin to se the story, you begin to rejoice. "FINALLY!! A R1/2 STORY THAT DOESN"T HAVE ANY OF THE FIGHTERS AS MAIN CHARACTERS!!" We fade into view of the Tendou household. The perspective moving into the bedroom of the oldest person living there. Soun Tendou rose from his bed after seeing the rays of dawn pierce his window and lay themselves across his face. Even though it had only been a few days since it happened, it still seemed like it was just yesterday. They had been so close. Fate had ruined the whole thing, however. The wretched amazon Shampoo, her great-grandmother, Ukyou, both of the twisted Kuno siblings, and that Ryoga boy had ruined the whole thing. He'd curse them all, but he didn't know any hexes. Besides, he wasn't one to hold grudges for long. Sighing, he stood up and walked to the bathroom. Once he opened the door, he saw his own face inside the mirror. He walked close to it and frowned at what he saw. He pulled his cheeks down, making himself look like an English Bulldog in the mirror. *You're getting old, Soun.* He thought to himself. *And worse yet, you're not getting younger. Well, might as well try and make it last. * He then brushed his teeth and walked back to his room. He changed into a pair of brown sweats and sweatshirt. On his way down the stairs, he heard sounds from the kitchen and saw Kasumi making breakfast. "Morning Kasumi. I'm going to take a morning jog; I'll see you later," he said while walking out of the front door. Kasumi looked a bit surprised as she saw her father walk out. "Father? Jogging? At HIS age?" ************************************************* Soun had a hard time remembering the last time he did this. He figured that once one of his daughters had gotten into their art enough he wouldn't have to worry about it anymore and retire. Boy, was he wrong. Ranma had no intention to marry Akane to join their families. Both he and Genma had wished beyond hope that Ranma and Akane would come to their senses, but the stubbornness and pride of them both prevented anything from growing in terms of affection for each other. Maybe Genma and he were prodding them a bit too much. The dojo destroyer ploy from long ago failed miserably, along with the beach race. Not to mention all those other times when they tried to force them both into the marriage. Maybe, if they just laid off a bit, they would want to.... His train of thought was interrupted when he ran into someione. He fell on his rear and winced in pain which quickly receded. He looked up to see one of Ranma and Akane's teachers, Hinako Ninomiya, her teacher's equipment strewn over the ground. She was in her adult form; obviously she had 'punished' a 'delinquent'. As eye apealing as she seemed, he averted his eyes, thinking that he was betraying his wife Yuriko. He bowed deeply, kneeling on the ground and quickly said, "Sorry, sorry, I didn't know that you were there." He didn't stop there; he continued to bow and repeat that same message over and over, until a hand touched his shoulder. He looked up to see her smiling at him, and kneeling. She said with her somewhat husky voice, "Don't apologize, Tendou-san. It was me who was going the wrong way." She paused a second and looked him over quizzically. "What are you doing?" Taking a moment to let all her words sink in, he replied, "Oh, -uh, just taking a monring jog. That's all." She tilted her head. "Really? What for?" He paused and with a big sweat-drop on both of their heads, replied, "I think I forgot." She looked down, almost as if she wanted to hear something else. She glanced back up at him. "Well, I'd better hurry. School is going to start in about an hour or so." She spoke somewhat nervously. Straightening, she grabbed her dropped supplies and ran past him to the school. Seeing her leave, he sighed. If he had spent any more time with her it might have brought "Thoughts" into his head, making him seem no better than his cursed master Happosai. Yuriko wouldn't be happy if she knew that he was going Happosai on her. Thinking of his deceased wife brought back those terrible memories back. ************************************************* She was laying on the bed, gasping, coughing; her life ebbing out of her body in front of him. His children were in their rooms, but he knew that they were all awake and were scared to death, knowing exactly what was going on. "Soun-kun, please. Help them cope. I knew full well that this was going to happen. Be there for them, love them, cherish them. Do everything to make sure they grow up well. Please," she told him. He held her tight, and they whispered those three words that they always heard from each other, and were always meant to each other. "I love you." He saw her smile with tears in her eyes and then slowly went limp in his arms. After that horrible experience, he needed all three of his daughters' love to bring him back from the madness that nearly took him over. As the years moved on, he saw them grow, all of them possessing a specific trait that made him remember her. Kasumi's gentleness and patience, Nabiki's intelligence and wit, and Akane's spirit and strength. He sighed again and stood, beginning to run again, thinking of his three wonderful daughters that had done so much for him. ************************************************* She looked at him from behind a corner and watched him stand up to continue his jog. She rolled back so the her back was against the wall. She sighed, the mere sight of him sent her mind in every other direction except to common sense and logic's way. He was a strong, emotional, and wonderful man. His heart was in the right place, as always. Her heart pounded in her chest at the sight of his happy face. She imagined him in every way imagined possible, in a business suit on the cover of JGQ, JGB, and JGY, in Bruce Lee's famous shirt-less outfit, fighting for justice, in Mike Hagger action-wear, punching the face in of some punk who would disturb the peace of good people and oh so much more, especially with her (in her adult form that is). That is, until she turned back into her child form. Her size decreased and she looked at her now small hands and her smile slowly disappeared from her face. She hugged herself and felt tears begin to well up in her eyes, her heart screaming "WHY?! WHY DID HE HAVE TO DO THAT TO ME??!?!" Sighing, she regained her composure and ran to school as fast as her super deformed figure could carry her. ************************************************* Ranma and Akane both went through their usual routine with Kuno and were late. Unfortunately, their 1st period class was with Hinako. They knew that they would get zapped and prayed to each and every god known to man that she would just make them stand in the hall with buckets of water. They dashed into the room and saw Miss H standing there, almost waiting for them with a BIG frown on her face. "You're late!" she shouted, none of her usual hyperactive energy showing. "Gomen Nasai, sensei," they chorused, knowing full well that even if they told her it was Kuno's fault, she wouldn't excuse them for being late. To their surprise and to the surprise of everyone else in the classroom, she said weakly, "Go stand in the hall, the buckets are over there." They exchanged glances, and quickly did what they were told. As they closed the door to their room, Ranma whispered, "What's eatin her?" Akane only shrugged and looked into the bucket, thinking. ************************************************* With the lesson complete, the students were now leaning over their desks, trying their best to get through the test she gave them all. Ranma and Akane were there as well, straining their brains to the limit. Miss Hinako looked at Akane, hoping that no one was watching. She thought, "Akane, I want to tell you. I love your father, but I can't even get near to him. Please, help me. Please." She wanted to walk up to her and say those very words, but something else held her back. Fear. Fear of rejection. Scared of being looked at in digust and telling her dad to stay away from her. But she knew that if she continued to hold back, the suffering would only be greater. So gathering her courage, she took a note on the front of her desk and one of her pens and began to write. "Would you wait a minute, Ranma? I need of get one of my books from my locker," Akane yelled at her fiancee, running away. Ranma shrugged and waited. Opening her locker, Akane found the book and a note on it. Taking the book out, she opened the note and it read: Dear Ms. Tendou; I have a matter of extreme importance I need to talk to you about. I implore you, don't tell anyone. Meet me at the coffee shop on Shirrow street and Manabe road, at about 4 PM tomorrow, if you can. Signed, Ninomiya Hinako She stood open mouthed at the note. Miss Hinako? Wanting to talk to her? Something was up, and she was going to find out what. "Yo! Akane, let's go!" Yelled Ranma from a distance. "Coming!" she replied and ran, putting the note in her pocket and her book in her bag. ************************************************* The next day, Akane walked to the store that Miss Hinako had told her about a few minutes early and saw her, sitting at a table at a restaurant next-door. What was even more strange was that she was in an oversized shirt and pants that even in her adult form, would make her look demure. For Ms. Hinako, that was a first. "Good day Ms. Tendou," she said with a smile, as Akane sat down across from her. "Uh, Konichi wa Hinako-san." Akane said nervously. Looking left and right, she began. "Hinako-san, why did you want to talk to me, of all people?" Hinako took a deep breath and asked calmly, "Do you know how old I really am, Tendou-san?" Akane looked a bit surprised. She tilted her head and guessed, "12 to 15?" The teacher shook her head slowly and replied quietly, "I'm 39." Akane almost fell over from the answer and asked, "How?" Hinako continued. "It's because of Happosai that I don't look my real age." She shook her head and Akane, now SD, looked like she saw a ghost and then realized something. "Why are you telling me this?" Akane asked. Hinako smiled faintly and began stuttering, "Well, you see.....well, it's like this.....I mean it's....well...you see it's, well...." She took a deep breath and blurted out, "I am in love with your father, Akane." She gasped and covered her mouth as quickly as she said those words, her eyes wide with shock. She was surprised to see that Akane had become SD, had a huge sweatdrop and fell over from the incredible weight of the drop. Getting up Akane asked weakly, yet still shocked "A-Are you sure, Hinako-san? I mean, are you serious?" Hinako nodded weakly and looked to the ground in shame. Akane looked at her, shocked. She didn't know what to think. This woman, who was as mysterious to them all had just told her a secret that no one else knew: she loved Akane's father. But Soun was 41 years old! Akane knew deep in her heart that she and Ranma would eventually get married and move out. Nabiki would probably marry Kuno, for his money, of course. It was more than obvious that Kasumi and Dr. Tofu would be wed, if only he would ditch the glass eye act. Mr. and Mrs. Saotome would eventually move out. Dad would be alone in that big house. Ms. Hinako seemed to be someone that could keep him company, despite the weird body composition. It wouldn't be too odd if everyone knew how old Hinako was. She smirked, remembering Dr. Tofu's behavior, but then remembered Hinako. She looked up and asked, "Well, is there anything I can do?" Before she could get another word in edgewise, Hinako was in her face. HUGE teary eyes and a cute crying face was all Akane could see for a moment. "HONTO, HONTO?!??!?!" Hinako cried. Akane leaned back and looked nervously at her. She came to a decision. "How about you take him on a date?" Hinako went back to normal and thought. As her hyperactive energy returned, she hopped up and started waving her arms into the air enthusiastically. She quickly stated, " Ohyesohyes,I'llaskhimonadateandthenhe'llaskmeonadateandthenwellgoonaontherdateandanotherandanotherandanotherandthenhe'llaskmetomarryhimandwe'lllivehappilyeverafterandhavelotsofkids'tillwedieandwe'lldietogether." By this time Akane had a BIG sweatdrop on her head. She began to walk away and just before she got out of earshot, she said to Hinako, "He's jogging every morning about half an hour before the time we go to school; you'll be able to ask him then." As she turned a corner and leaned against the wall, she couldn't help but smile at what was going on. Her dad was going on a date and with someone that cared for him. She hoped that Ranma would have the guts to ask her on one, but her mind told her, "Fat chance of that!!" She slumped her shoulders and walked home, there was much to get ready for. As Akane walks home, we see a pastel moment of Ms. Hinako looking very hopeful as Genesis's "Hold on My Heart" begins to ebb into the background music. Note: All pictures of Hinako-san is her in her adult form, it's seems better that way. ~~Hold on my heart~~Just hold on to that feeling~~ We see another pastel of Ms. Hinako, with gently smiling Soun in the corner. ~~We both know we've been here before~~We both know what could happen~~ ~~Hold on my heart~~'Cause I'm looking over your shoulder~~ We see a pastel of Soun with his late wife Yuriko with a sad Ms. Hinako in the background. ~~Oh please don't rush in this time~~Just show her(him) how you feel~~ ~~So hold on my heart~~Just throw me a lifeline~~ We see a picture of Hinako running into the arms of Soun. ~~'Cause I'll keep a place for you~~Somewhere deep inside~~ ~~So hold on my heart~~Please tell her to be patient.~~ ~~Cause there has never been a time~~Where I wanted something more~~ Next, a picture of Soun and Ms. Hinako embracing and looking into each other's eyes. ~~If I can recall this feeling~~And I know there's a chance~~ ~~Then I will be there~~Yes I will be there~~ ~~Be there for you~~When ever you want me to~~ Shows a picture of our two inevitable lovebirds walking in the sunset of a beach. ~~Yes whenever you call~~ I will be there~~ ~~Yes I will be there~~ Shows a sad picture of Soun with a picture of Yuriko behind him. ~~Hold on my heart~~Don't let her(him) see you crying~~ ~~Cause no matter where you go~~You know she'll always be with me~~ Shows a picture of a smiling Hinako handing a hankercheif to a crying Soun. ~~So hold on my heart~~Just hold on to that feeling~~ ~~We both know we've been here before~~We both know what can happen~~ ~~So hold on my heart~~Please hold on my heart~~ ~~I'm gonna hold on to your heart~~Please hold on~~ ~~Please hold on to my heart~~ The last picture we see is a picture of the two looking into the beautiful sky. Then fades out. The End of Part 1. ________________________________________________________________________ Acknowledgements: Well, I did it and I'm proud dag nabit. I have not seen a story where Soun or Ms. Hinako is are the main characters, so I thought I'd remedy that with this. I'm not really sure how old Ms. Hinako is so I just grabbed a straw and guessed. Another reason why is because Soun deserves someone, everyone else has someone, so why not Soun? I need your ener....oh wait, I mean I need your input, what do you think? (I've been watching too much US Sailor Moon, but hey, it's not bad.) BTW: JGQ= Japan Gentleman Quarterly JGB= " " Bi-annual JGY= " " Yearly Mike Hagger is one of my favorite Video game characters from Capcom's "Final Fight" and I think Soun and Mr. Hagger were separated at birth, they both have the dark hair, the mustache, and the rectangle eyes. The only thing that seperates them is that Mike looks like a walking ad for steroid control and Soun has longer hair. Their heads are basically the same in face design and what not. Mike Hagger is clad in metal boots, pants, shoes, a leather bandolier, and armored gloves. Yuriko is the name I chose for Soun Tendou's deceased wife, since I couldn't find out what it was. The morning began as always. Ranma and his dad would get up and train, throwing punches and kicks at speeds that made the mind wonder. Kasumi was cooking breakfast and Akane and Nabiki were getting ready. Soun on the other hand had already left and started on his jog. ************************************************* Meanwhile, in another part of Nerima, several punches and kicks were thrown into the air and were quickly retracted. Soun's sweatshirt and pants was sticking to his body, and legs, limiting his movements somewhat, but not as much as the heavy wrist, vest and ankle weights he decided to use. He knew that he had no hope of beating Ranma in a fair fight, but memories of his past defeats, despite his best efforts pushed him onward. He remembered that incident all too well. He and the others were trying to rescue Akane from the man from China, wait a second, there were several. The one in particular though, the warriors from Nekonlon China. He remembered how he and the others had boarded the flying ship. Once the melee had begun, Genma and he had tried to take on the armed warrior, Bishamonten, and failed miserably. Then came Kirin, he hadn't even had a chance to charge the man who was trying to wed his daughter. Oh the shame. Then came Togenkyo. He did fare better, but those rufians didn't even let his daughters have any hearsay on who they married. Then Ryugenzawa, and then the Musk Dynasty, and AAAAAAARRRRG!! There's too many situations where he felt so helpless that he couldn't even protect his children, who meant everything in the world to him. Like before, he ran into Ms. Hinako, but not like the first time, they "almost" ran into each other as they were passing one of Tsubasa's stop sign disguised near Ukyou's Restarant. She had of course, 'punished' another delinquent. "Oh Ohaiyou Gozaimas Hinako-san." he said bowing to her and she did the same. "Ohyaiyou Tendou-san," she looked at his sweat suit and weights "Running again?" He nodded and explained the reason why. She agreed dullfully and she passed him again and he contnued to run. She saw him run again and as he ran out of sight, she bagan to bang her head on a telephone pole until it started to crack. "WAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I DON'T BELEIVE I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING!!" she screamed as hard as her lungs could supply air. After a few more good whacks, the pole began to tip and fall over, on Tsubasa Throughout Nerima, a ear peircing scream could be heard and at Ukyou's Shop, Ukyou somehow felt a little better, but she couldn't expain why. So she shrugged it off and continued to get ready for school. ************************************************* This same routine between Soun and Ms. Hinako continued for the next week. Another failed attempt at asking Soun for a date, and another telephone pole down. Everytime, in her beautiful adult form. Until, one morning where the rain was pouring down harder than Soun's usual tears. Soun descided to adapt and wear a pair of swimshorts and sandals as he trudged through the rain, splash after splash. He considered this, endurance training for extreme cold and once more met Ms. Hinako in the rain with an umbrella, her adult form, and a determined look on her face. "Tendo-san. There is something very important I need to ask you." He blinked a few times and replied "And that might be?" Once more she was about to crack, but took a deep breath and blurted out "WILL YOU GO ON A DATE WITH ME?!" he stared, his hair stuck in a wind-tunnel back position and his eyes wide, as if he was just yelled at and not ask him. "Ano, Tendou-san?" she asked again, waving her hand in front of his face, then she stood back a bit and thought for a minute. Then, she snapped her fingers and slung her duffel bag over her shoulder and still holding her umbrella, wrapped her free arm underneath one of his stiffened ones and around his back. Then, slowly, she inched her face closer to his, placed her lips onto his and kissed him, rather deeply mind you. "Now, awaken my prince charming." she thought privately. Even though 2.5 seconds passed during the kiss, it seemed like several happy eternities for her. Every passer by on the street looked with either surprise, envy, or admration. Either happy that he finally might stop that needless crying of his or cursing him for having such a beautiful woman kiss him. It abruptly ended when one of the more elderly residents of Nerima grumbled rather loudly "Why don't you do it right there?" the elderly woman grumbled as she walked by slowly. A bit, or should I say very disappointed Hinako broke the embrace and waited for him to come out of his trance. Just then Soun came out of his trance and looked to her and said "Uh, what did you say?" She sighed and blew out one of those fish shaped white clouds. She continued with renewed confidence. "Tendou-san. Would you go out with me this Friday? If you're not doing anything. There's supposed to be a good gaijin movie at the theaters then," then her face started to become desperate, " I'll even pay the way." After a few blinks, Soun looked to the sky in deliberation. The only thing that he could think of was playing endless games of shogi and go, plus the occasional game of chess, with Genma. he had to admit, even that going monotonously boring. With a nod, he said "Sure, why not?" She jumped in the air and waved her arms franitcally and happily. "Oh thank you, thank you, a million times thank you." and with that, she hugged him fiercly, only passer-bys could hear the sounds of Soun's body either popping or cracking. Until she released him and skipped on her way to school. Soun was gasping for air as he tried to get up. Then one of the people that he knew walked up to him in the receeding rain and elbowed him playfully. "Soun you switch hitter you. Making out in public. Looks like you still got it." as he finished he walked away and smirked, envious at his luck and jealous at the same time. Soun realized what he had said and brought his hand to his lips. Hinako had kissed him, he wondered why for a moment, then he realized that she actually liked him. "She likes me?" he wondered as he started to jog again. *Making out in public?* *Me?* He considered a moment. *Naaaa. Well, might as well see that movie, better that than all that constant cheating with Genma.* He thuoght as he continued to run, kicking and punching, looking at the clearing sky. ************************************************* After school, everyone got news of Soun's date, but it wasn't without it's own problems. "Daddy! Are you even sure you want to do this? I mean, think of our reputation? What will people think?" Nabiki growled. Then Akane came to her dad's rescue. "Nabiki, can we talk for a minute? Can you come too Kasumi?" she asked and her sisters followed her into the dojo where she explained the situation. Although reluctant, Nabiki then agreed about what happened. Kasumi on the other hand, was estactic. "You mean that father can actually leave the house again?" she hopped up and down and grabbed Akane's hands. "Is there anyway we can help?" Akane had never seen Kasumi this happy before. "Oh What will he wear? Where will he go? What will he do?" she said quickly, pacing up and down the dojo. Walking out, Nabiki was still unhappy about the developments going on, until she went into her room, closed the door, and slowly, her frown was replaced with a smile. *Daddy. You're moving on. A little late maybe, but better late than ever.* She hopped on her bed and looked through her phone book for good restaraunts. Ma Mason looked good, it was kind of expensive, but for some reason, for her father, it seemed worth it. Happiness for her father, who had been so sad for so long. It wasn't long before the other two discovered Nabiki's wanting to help and they were more than happy to let her join in the planning. ************************************************* Friday. It was 5:30. The house was a bustle of activity. Kasumi and Akane were helping Soun dress nice for his date. Nabiki had reserved a table for them her dad and Ms. Hinako. Ranma and Genma you ask? Nothing to help. Just continuing their practicing in mid air fighting. How exciting. Anyway, Akane and Kasumi had finally gotten their dad in a light blue jean button down shirt, a white chashmir sweater over it, a pair of tan trousers, and a pair of semi-formal shoes. You know, the kind you can wear in both work and play? Well, in the mirror, Soun saw himself and wondered if he was looking at someone different. His hair was still back as ususal, bit it was pulled back a bit in a pony tail that started at the bottom of his neck. "Oh father, you look wonderful. I am sure that Ms. Hinako will be very impressed." Kasumi said with her evident new happiness. Unsure of what to say, he looked to his to his other daughter and asked "So? How does your old man look Akane?" He gestured with his arms outward. Hoping to make a good impression. She smiled and hugged her dad lovingly. "You look great dad." She pulled back and brought him with Kasumi following them both to the downstairs. He got an admiring look from Nabiki as he stepped into the kitchen and into the main room of the house. Acting so unlike herself, she hopped up and hugged her father happily "Oh daddy. I don't know why, but I feel glad you're doing this." she looked down while holding his hands after she pulled back. "Well, you ready?" Soun nodded nervously and Nabiki smiled as she continued, but what was different was that is wasn't one of Nabiki's evil smiles, but a warm, caring smile that seemed to warm up the room. "After the movie you two are gonna see, head to Ma Mason. Make sure to try the feticcini alfreado(sic). It's highly recommended." she ended with a smirk. A knock at the door interrupted their conversation. Akane ran as quickly as she could to open the door for their guest, but facefaulted to see Ukyou standing there, for Ranma no doubt. "Hi Akane, Is Ranchan home?" she asked nicely, but for some reason, it gave Akane those homocidal tendencies she felt once in a while. "Yes. He's over there," she growled, pointing to where Ranma and Genma were in mid-air, throwing several punches and kicks at each other, only to disengage and do the same thing over and over again. Disappointed, she yelled to her dad, "It's not her Dad. Sorry." With that, she turned back inside to the house, letting Ukyou in and closing the door, with a little slam to it, she waled back to the house. Smiling as always, she looked to Ranma as he stepped up from his and his dad's exercise, "Hi Ranchan, ready for that date," but she then noticed the well dressed man standing in the home and asked "Uh, who are you? Where's Mr. Tendou?": All the Tendous couldn't help but laugh at her question and Nabiki said coyly "Ukyou, meet our Father, getting ready on something Ranma seems to be unable to do and he's got several times as many admirers as daddy does." They all heard a "I heard that" from Ranma and his dad as they continued to spar again on the other side of the home. To say that Ukyou was confused would be an understatement, as she looked to Soun with a shocked look and found herself speechless as to what to say. Sadly; the whole thing was interrupted by a bicycle ring and ,of course, a bike. That crashed on top of Soun, not ruining his suit thankfully. "Nihao Ran...." she paused to see that she was on top of Soun and not Ranma. "Hey! Where Ranma? Wife ready to take Ranma on date." she inquired and pulling her bike off of Soun's face. He weakly pointed to where Ranma was and as she bounced her way to him, she was cut off by Ukyou. "Just where do you think you're going with MY date?" she growled as her battle aura began to flare, as did Shampoo's. As their fight started, Akane was tempted to bring out her new, upgraded, and improved Ultra-Space Hammer and use the bimbo and the 'good-friend' as test subjects. Unfortunately (depending on your POV), the try at the test subjects was interrupted by an insane and maniacle laughter and an annoying cry. "RANMA DARLING! I'M READY FOR OUR DATE!" The other two already enflared self-appointed fiancees began to make a mad dash at the martial arts gymnast, until their melee was interrupted by Soun's yell. "STOP THIS AT ONCE!" They all stopped and saw him stomp his way to them, where they about to fight through his wall. "And who are you lowly old man Tendou to order me, Kodachi Kunou, away from my darling Ranma, whom I have heard by hearsay that he is going on a date and with none other than I, the rising ,young star of (Yabber jabber for who knows how long)." she finished to see that everyone had fallen asleep. "HEY, I'M TALKING HERE!" she screamed, outraged. Then we bore ourselves with the other two thinking the same thing, until they are interrupted by Soun. "I think you misunderstand. It's me that's going on a date." he said plainly. The three gave him a confused look and began to laugh. "How very amusing. But I am afraid that it was Ranma and I who were going on this date." Kodachi laughed. Shampoo and Ukyou said their own versions of the same thing and Soun bent his head down, but said loud enough "At least I get more dates than you three combined." As little satisfaction the insult got him, it got the 'I am Ranma's Fiancee" trio mad enough to charge him. All of his training paid off as he hopped back, avoiding Ukyou's giant spatula, Shampoo's Bonbroi and Kodachi's Pins, but just barely. He began to run for his life a voice from out of nowhere proclaimed. "How dare you try to hurt Soun-kun!" lo and behold, it was Hinako in her child form as she finished the motion for her Happo 5 yen satsu. Ranma was about to jump and pull them away when he felt Akane's faster, harder, and much more painful hammer slam on his head "RANMA NO BAKA! DON'T YOU DARE!" Akane said, her battle aura flaring, Soun jumped as quick as he could away from the tendrils that sucked the girls dry, yet seemed to not touch Akane at all. Maybe there's some kind of length limit on it or something. "Ohh, Shampoo need sleep now." the amazon said weakly as Ukyou and Kodachi said their own versions of what Shampoo said and fell asleep. The three in a heap, started to snore as Kasumi turned to Genma, who finally finished his exercise with his son. "Mr. Saotome. Could you please take care of Kodachi, Shampoo, and Ukyou and take them back to their homes?" Of course, when Kasumi asks you to do something, you can't refuse her smile. Like she has that kind of power to bring out the better in people. But hey, I'm getting ahead of myself, this isn't about Kasumi, it's about Soun. Either way, Genma nodded and picked up the light as a feather trio of girls and out of the dojo he went. Akane took Ranma's hand and said "C'mon Ranma," and heard nothing out of Ranma as they made a mad dash out of the dojo and ran to elsewhere. Nabiki smirked as usual and told Kasumi that she had some buisness to attend to across town and went upstairs. Kasumi excused herself from the room, leaving an adult Hinako and Soun staring at each other. She was wearing a light blue blouse that had a low neck cut, a gray skirt that reached to her knees, and a pair of white sandals. He was awstruck to see her like this, when every other time that he saw her, made him want to look away. This time, he didn't want to ever stop seeing her in this beautiful outfit, but more importantly, her. She began to stammer as she saw Soun in his choice of wear. "Uh, uh, Soun-san. A...a...are you ready?" He nodded apprehensively and they stood there like a couple of idiots until Nabiki passed them by saying how the movie was going to start in a half hour. Hinako looked at her watch and screamed, Nabiki was right. They had only a half hour before the movie started, and the trip would take them 5 minutes longer than they had time. So, she grabbed his wrist and like a speeding bullet, raced as fast as she could to the theater, with Soun running beside her, oddly not even breaking a sweat. ************************************************* With everyone gone, Kasumi took care of what little things that were needed to be done. Once they we done, though. "Oh my. There's nothing left to do," she said to herself, "Then that means I.....," a huge smile crept across her face as she ran into the dojo, then at the top of her lungs, screamed. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" Once it had ended, she panted on her knees, but with a satisfied smile. She slowly laid down on the floor and slept with a smile on her face. Finally relieved of getting rid of all the silence she kept for so long. For the first time in her life ever since her mom died, she felt like herself. ************************************************* Meanwhile, back at the theater. They made it early enough to the theater and talked about the movie they were to watch. "Well, I heard that it was really popular in the states." Blinking, Soun asked, "Anything else?" She paused for a while and said with a sweatdrop. "Uh, that's all I know." A few other people beside them did the classic one frame 'fall on the face' bit at the news. So, not bothering to ask anymore questions, they maintained an uneasy silence as they went into the theater. When they took their seats, she looked to him and wondered if that little mistake at the entrance didn't ruin the whole thing, while Soun was thinking what movie they were watching. The lights dimmed and then the audience paid no attention to the company who made it. Until a gloved hand with a baton raised from the bottom of the screen to the top. Several people cried in horror and Ms. Hinako cried " Oh no! It's the sound promo!" everyone ducked put on ear muffs, helmets and what not, except a very confused Soun. Then the hand move down and an ear shattering BOOOM resonated throughout the theater, until the dissonance faded into a small chord, and a three letters and a number appeared in the center. THX, with a small 2 by it. Then, it faded and a bass voice said, while another sentence appeared. The Audience is now deaf. While everyone recovered from the boom, a orchestra began to play a heroic tune and once it finished, 2 small sentences faded into view on the screen. A long time ago.......... In a galaxy far, far away..... 2 hours later, Soun and Hinako walked out of the theater talking about the movie they saw. :"But wasn't that sad when that boy saw his only family dead like that?" Hinako asked her date, looking at him. "Yes, but what about when he heard the old man's voice when he was in the trench. Surely a moment of true heroism if I ever saw one." he said with a heroic gesture and a fiery background. "But a good movie nonetheless," she paused and asked him "Didn't your daughter say something about a reservation at Ma Mason?" Remembering, he nodded and they both walked arm and arm towards the restaurant. The camera stays in place as we see our two heroes walk to the restaurant, going out of the camera's view, Huey Lewis and the News' "Power of Love" ebbs into the background. We hear the music as the credits roll. ~Power of Love~~Is a curious thing~ ~Make one man weak~~Make another man sing.~ ~Tougher than diamonds, rich like cream~ ~Stronger and harder, than a bad girl's dream~ ~Make a bad one good~~Make a wrong go right~ ~Power of love will keep you home at night~ ~And it don't take money~~Don't take fame~ ~Don't need your credit card to ride this train~ ~It's strong and it's sudden and it cruel sometimes~ ~But if I just see your eyes~~That's the power of love~ ~First time you feel it.~~Might make you sad~ ~Next time you feel it~~Might make you mad~ ~But you'll be glad, baby, oh when you've found~ ~That power makes the world go round~ ~And it don';t take money~~Don't take fame~ ~Don't need no credit card to ride this train~ ~It's strong and it's sudden and it's cruel sometimes~ ~But if I just see your eyes~ ~They say that all in love is fair~ ~Yeah, but you don't care~ ~But you know what to do~~When it gets hold of you.~ ~And with a little help from above~ ~You feel the power in love~ ~You feel the power in love~~Can you feel it?~ ~And it don't take money~ ~Don't take fame~~Don't need no credit card to ride this train~ ~Tougher then diamonds and stronger than steel~ ~You want to feel the way it makes you feel~ ~You feel the power~~You feel the power of love~~That's the power~ ~You feel the power of love of love~~You feel the power of love~ ~You feel the power of love~ ~You feel the power of love~ End of Part 2a. Acknowledgments: First of all. Yeah yeah I know. Ma Masion isn't in R1/2, but I had to think of something. What would you have preferred? TGI Tokyo? I think NOT! I can't spell italian and my spell checker can't help me anywhere on that so bear with me. 2nd. I do not recommend running in the rain, you'll get sick and feel miserable. Take it from one who knows. ME!! 3rd: I really feel bad for Kasumi, having to put up with all the things going on and ruining her future so selflessly. Candidate for Humanitarian of the Century I say. That's why I made her scream like that. Man am I nice or what? 4th: Yeah yeah, I have a bias against the terrible trio. Especialy Kodachi and Shampoo. Ukyou has my sympathies, but that's it. She belongs to Ryouga (Another on my hate list) as far as I'm concerned. So don't give me any lectures on it. IT'S MY FIC. SO NYEA!!! (The so-called mature 18 year old author sticks his tongue at thee.) 5th: I LOVE STAR WARS. 'Nuff said. 6th: The reason why I used Huey Lewis and the News? They know how to make a love song seemed right. And it's not the last time I'm gonna use their music. You who all have no taste and hate HL and the News, (In an ominous voice) You have been warned. 7th: Lastly, until I can get my social life sorted out, I won't have as much time as I wish, so be patient in waiting for the next chapter. 8th: Send all suggestions, C&C, insults, death-threats, flames, hate notes, love notes, apologies, pin #'s, cash, your head on a platter, "helpful suggestions" (whatever the heck those are), and what not to: 9th: What did you people think of my Tenchi Muyo Fanfic? It was posted about the same time as this was only before. Khryis@Hotmail.com You can remember this. Right? As the EVIL author completes his masterpiece, he stands up and shouts. "KUMA-KI!!!!!!!" And lo and behold, the mere human is now the Great White Bear. He now holds up a sign, and picks up a massive warhammer. "Ryoga Hibiki. Hypocrite, liar, cheater, and lost one. PREPARE TO DIE!!" He turns the sign around and it says. "Bwa, HA, and HA!" With that he runs though the wall and to Japan in search of his prey.
