  Shampoo is not the person responsible for Ranma accumulating more flight
time than the average 747.  Also, although Shampoo may be less considerate
overall (I don't know this), as far as Ranma is concerned, she seems to be
more considerate than his flight instructor.  Furthermore, she is no more
fixated than most of the cast.  

Which is why my #2 pick in the Who Gets Ranma race (I am a firm believer in
the concept of The Creator Is Always Right) is None Of The Above. If Akane
doesn't end up with him, odds are none of them will.

  Of course, this is a two-way street.  Akane may choose not to marry him
(kudos to Susan Doenime for her novel approach in 'Poison').  

Life, love, and Takahashi manga are not fair.

  Half the fun of fanfics would be lost if authors were forced to stick as
tightly to the Takahashi storylines as you seem to suggest. And what about
the anime? Takahashi-sama didn't even develop many or most of the plots.
Anyway, remember how young Ranma and his peers are.  In another four or six
years (which is beyond the scope of the manga) , Ranma or Akane will have
changed.  We don't know that Ranma and Akane marry.
