well, i lost this and i found it again. its been a while since
its seen the light of day (iirc, um, january 1996?) anyways,
its undergone so many changes since then its barely the same.
its also not from Priss's POV now coz i don't have the skill
to pull that off. hmmm. laters! still the same shitty opening
which i gotta change tho.
I've used "daydream island" which i remember reading in a
Sazan Eyes manga but i dunno if its real (i think someone told me it
was) or even present in BGC.... err can anyone clarify this for me??
and to the other guy doing a bgc/predator fic! MORE MORE MORE MORE :)

Summer in MegaTokyo, dusk. There are few views of
the city that you would call beautiful, this is not one of
them. Priss put her forehead to the glass, the heat of her
body misting it a little where it contacted. "This city is
such a fucken pigsty" she said.
"Priss, don't be so negative," said Nene.
Priss took in the view again, the shiny skyscrapers reaching
up, all glassed and reflective, devoid of feeling, then
looked below to the ground level to see narrow roads of pot
holed bitumen, cracked sidewalks, dark alleys and
prostitutes trying to ply their trade.
"Oh yes, Nene" she remarked sarcastically "its all honey
and roses."
"You sound just like Leon talking like that, miss death
and negativity." Priss tried to glare at Nene out of the
corner of her eye, only she was too preoccupied looking up
into the reflection of one of the towers at one of the
brighter stars peeking through the embryo that would become
night. <<fix loooooong naff sentence>>

Timeline:
Alternate, does not fit in anywhere really...
But does take place after episode 5...
Necessary Notes:
Yautja - The species name for Predators.
Aliens - Species name for Aliens ;> (aka Bugs)
Ooman - What the yautja call us humans in their own tongue.
thwei - Blood
Hard Meat - What yautja call Aliens, them black, buglike,
banana headed, acidic blooded creatures....
Blooded - This means a warrior has fought and won against
a Queen egglaying alien and had his mentors mark
burned into his forehead with the Queens blood
mixed with his spittle. Tattoo of passage kinda.
Black Warrior - The yautja's version of the Grim Reaper.
---/\-oO[ Chapter 1 ]Oo-/\---
Oomans were one of the greatest of the prey in the known
universe, renowned for their cowardice until backed into a
corner, making them a ressiliant fighter, truly worthy prey
to be hunted.
An ooman skull on any blooded warriors trophy wall was
always a showpiece. Kul'sek mused to himself, "If there
were no worthy oomans to hunt in this cycle, I shall return
next cycle and see if any of the newly grown oomans are any
better." Most oomans were not warriors, and were by the
laws, not allowed to be hunted, the laws were strict on
this.... "I will have a worthy ooman skull before I meet
the Black Warrior!" he snarled and pumped the air with his
fist, waving the

"Another victim eh?" Jacobson approached and flashed his
id and stepped under the police do-not-cross tape.
"Yeah. 'nother victim. S'just like the caucasian found
last week."
The coroner lifted the bloodied sheet that covered the
head of the corpse. Where the head would have normally been
but wasn't. He pulled the sheet right off and hi-beamed the
torch on it. Someone with a camera was busy, flashes
illuminating the room in practised intervals.
"No head, no spine." He squatted, studied the throat.
"One, maybe two blows. Very sharp. Very powerful."
Jacobson shut off the maglite, stood and turned right
into Iris Cara. Captain Iris Cara, one of the senior
detectives in the homicide squad, one of the few 'old-timers'
left who still did field work. Most were pushing papers at
her age.
"Sorry Captain." he said, stepping back.
"Its OK." She motioned to the body. "This is the second
one like this."
"I know, I did the autopsy on the first, didn't find much
and honestly I don't expect to find much on this one either."
Iris just nodded. "I really don't like where this is going."
she thought back to one of her earliest cases, a Voomer was
killing your women on the Paradise Loop, stealing their
reproductive organs. Now she had a possible boomer stealing
brains and spines.
"One is noteworthy, two exactly the same and so... violently
done cannot be overlooked. Are you going to hand the case
over to the ADP?"
"No, they've enough on their plate right now, what with
the recent Battlemover episode. I'll hand it over once we
know more about those responsible and were certain it is
boomer related."

"Got anything yet Nene?" Sylia asked her.
"Nothing, except... Well there is some form of low level
interference not on any of the usual frequencies." Priss
swung her visor over in Nene's direction "Any direction on
it cyber girl?" she queried.
"Um... yeah! Looks as if the source emanates from about
two blocks down."
"You think its anything to worry about?" Linna looked over
to Sylia.
"Probably someone playing with a new micro tv antenna," Priss
quipped.
The four slowly made their way down the outside of the
building with Sylia first, then Priss and Linna with Nene
last.
There was no banter, just business, cold and pre-calculated.
Linna gave Priss a slight shove "Move it slowpoke."
"Sorry, just thinking" she replied.
Nene snickered and made use of a ripe opportunity, "Priss
thinking? That's a first."
"Quiet you two," Sylia interjected, "we're getting close
to where the interference was detected. How close do you
think is it Nene?"
"Ummm. Somewhere in the vicinity of the next building."
Priss derisively cut in and said "And you say I don't think.
Can't you be a little more precise with all that tech?"
Sometimes she knew she let the little things get to her, and
Nene always did try her best.
"Still no movement yet Nene? The interference must be
cloaking it." Priss mulled over a few possibilities, if this
was new tech, it usually came with a price. Blood price.
Fucking boomers always bring death.
"Nothing. It could be anything, I don't have any idea" she
was shaking her head slightly 'Too bloody late now to
analyse it now' she thought as three BU-55C's broke through
the old brick wall, facing them straight on.
"Shit. Lets move!" Priss shouted, leading to the right
while Linna went to the left leaving Sylia basically the
middleman. Nene was already out on the edge of the fray
throwing snipping shots and fiddling with her scramblers.

"Whats news Madigan?"
"Sir, something broke the upper atmosphere last night."
Kate Madigan was a little uneasy bringing this information
to Quincy. It could be something, it could be nothing.
Bringing notice of trivial information often resulted in
missing personnel.
"And?"
"Well sir, the break was only recorded for three point one
seven five seconds, not long enough to be any of the
commercial supersonic airliners, and too precise to ignore."
Quincy narrowed his eyes. Kate had served exceptionally
well, when compared to everyone else who had come and gone
under his manipulations.
"Satellites reported the break originating in the upper
atmosphere, not the lower region of the upper atmosphere"
"Something entered earthspace?" he breathed. Kate held
her tongue, he was obviously running over hundreds of
thoughts.
"Both surface radar and spy satellite reports showed no
objects of any size within a one hundred and twenty
kilometer radius of where the break was pinpointed.
Astronomers have an uncanny knack of detecting incoming
meteorites long before they impact. Whatever it was, did
not burn up on breaching the atmospheric envelope. We are
currently waiting for confirmation from pine gap and another
one of several observatories, but nothing can be ascertained
as yet."
"NOTHING??"
"No sir."
"The timed break coincides with timings similar to that of
earth shuttles. There are no known landing or take off
sites capable of handling shuttles outside of Tokyo and
Beijing in the immediate area."
Quincy mulled his thoughts over for a few minutes staring
off into nowhere. "Activate a few of the new ST-42's and
have all operatives report anything out of the ordinary.
Contact our USSD mole and see what little pet project
escaped has Genaros this time." Maybe it was more refugee
BU-33S types. There were always many uses for those.
Quincy stretched back in his chair watching Madigan leave.
The rumors of Genaros illegal weapons development had grown
from being nothing but a rumor to being something more
substantial. If the GPCC had secreted the Battlemover on
Genaros, what else might be there.... And now if some of
that secret Genaros weapons technology was here, it would
need... appropriating.... Quincy smiled at the thought.

"Gaaaa" Priss' scream was cut off as one of the boomers
got within striking range and crunched her backward into the
old brick wall. Blooms of pain touched her right shoulder
and back as she bounced out of her suit sized indenture and
let fly a few rail spikes in its direction, clipping it
across the torso. 'Damn, my natural shoulder too' she
groaned inwardly at the sudden stiffness.
"How are you holding out Linna?" Priss's voice clicked on
over the voice link.
"Doing... ok" she responded between breaths. Large divets
of concrete exploded right next to her with the expiration
of her target.
A short crackle came over the comms. system accompanied by
Sylia's echo "Lets wrap this up people." All four women
turned their attention to the last of the boomers which soon
went down under their combined efforts.
"I'm still reading that interference Sylia." Nene was
getting more than a little frustrated that her state of the
art suit was unable to do much against some localised static.
She ran a narrow, more focused scan on a lower Hertz range and
tightened up on the audio spectrum analyser. <<err??^_^>>
- [*] - [*] - [*] -
It was after midnight and before dawn, the time when all
the workers were heavy into their dreams and even insomniacs
were contemplating sleeping. The boomer designated
ST42-2E08936 kept sending ongoing reports via narrow
broadcast channel to a constantly changing location.
Multiple antennae sprouted forth alongside its optical
sockets. twitched. panned. swivelled. Everything in its
immediate vicinity was scanned against its known database,
examined for abnormality and its probability of not
belonging. Anything that could be fuselage in material or
design that might belong to any space travelling transports
were checked first.
ST42-2E08936 meticulously made its way around piles of
refuse, following its semi-programmed course. Not more than
twetny five meters away with its back turned was a
humanoid-esque shape approximatley two point three meters
tall. Whatever it was, it was looking up at the stars.
Encoded messages and realtime video feedback swamped the
boomers outgoing channel.
- [*] - [*] - [*] -
Quincy sat on the edge of his chair. VERY interested in
the securtity footage Madigan was showing him.
Kul'Sek spun, his shoulder mounted laser twitching with
every movement of his visor, every where his eyes went,
the laser followed. No immediate threat was visable. The
airwaves were saturated with ooman babble, no more than
usual. Ultra Violet scan, nothing. Photoelectric,
nothing. Infared, rotting garbage and small vermin.
Nothing. Kul'Sek let the laser drop and walked into his
ship.
"We believe that the GPCC built this in secret. In height
its remarkable similar to a BU-12B, whilst in physical build
its much like a BU-55C. It is shorter and less bulkier than
the BU-99CX1. Note the face guard and shoulder mounted
weaponry. The hydrolic or powercables on its head would make
it very vulnerable. A strange oversight for such a well
designed boomer." Madigans commentary ran with the video.
Quincy watched a blackness open and swallow the boomer to
be replaced with the appearance of garbage.
"What do you think should be done Kate?"
She turned from the tv to face Quincy.
"Well... Its beyond anything that has been hinted at by
Gulf and Bradley, which leaves few companies with the
resources for creating such a boomer, and other indications
point to the GPCC. If it is another escapped GPCC built
weapon there is a chance that it might be running on a
modified piletless J-1 battlecomputer." Reference to what
they failed to obtain from the Battlemover was not lost on
Quincy. "We also have to consider the agenda of whoever is
pulling its strings. More to the point, who or what is its
target and how might we use that to our advantage."
"And your recomendations?"
"Can we afford to wait for others to act? We must assume
we are not the only ones to have noticed or know whats going
on. Obtaining an intact J-1 would most likley more than
cover losses incured from the Battlemover incedent. I
recomend we move now so as not to loose again."
Quincy listened to her advice, even if his decision had
been made much earlier. Her advice was sound and for the
most of it, along with his line of thinking.
"Here" he said, handing her some photographs. "These are
deep satellite scans of daydream island. The black blur is
whatever they are hiding in. I want you to remotley
co-ordinate the strike team. The rest is up to you. That
will be all."
- [*] - [*] - [*] -
A convoy of disguied Genom heavy transports coagulated on
the mainland. The strike team consisted of eight BU-55c's
and two BU-12b's. Madigan and the techs watched the
monitors in the trailor with apprehension. The boomer team
was in position, set to move in on the anomaly. Madigan
gave the signal.

End Notes :
stuff goes here i spose but i am too lazy to put stuff
here. suffice to say, this fic has been sitting on my HD
for OVER a year without being touched. but who gives a
shit. once a bad fic, always a bad fic. its strange
where you find things...
/usr/src/texts/misc/work/bgc-pred-aliens.myrmidon-1.txt
no wonder i lost it for over a year....
Myrmidon the title of this whole fic means Henchmen, and
in BGC, basically, everyone is a tool of someone higher
up, everyone is everyone elses henchman.
Yes if its not plainly obvious, Some info was take
directly from the BGC rpg from RTG.
Techstuff
WTF is an ST-42?? actually, If memory serves me
correctly from the 'ole days, the ST-42 is an old
Segate hard disk (somewhere in the range of
10-20mb..... :)
The STealth-For-te-Too boomer designed primarily for
extra caricular activities, err, I mean things like
covert surveillance, monitoring, etc. Standing
roughly 5 1/2 - 6 feet tall and armed with standard
palm mounted short range guns, firing 7.62mm
ammunition. Because the barrel of the gun is limited
by the length of the forearm, accuracy is best at
very close range. Guns can be fired when the elbow
is crooked, until the chambers run dry, but to
reload, the arm must be straight to allow ammunition
casings to pass down the upper arm from a small
stockpile located just under the collar bone to the
shoulder socket.
Colt M41A Pulse Rifle - This is a 10mm pulse automatic
rifle, adopted as the weapon of choice for the
Colonial Marine Corps. Uses an over and under design
with a 30mm pump action grenade launcher. Uses
standard US M309 10mm rounds, 100 per clip. caseless
ammo with explosive tips with light armor peircing
capacity. Capable of 1000rpm. The underslung 30mm
grenade launcher has a 5 round internal capacity
using M40 fragmentation High Explosive Armour
Peircing rounds. Using hardened opticals to take
reduced damage from EMP weapons.
M56 Smart Gun - Whooooa mama! The M56 is a 5kilowatte
gas-dynamic laser powered by an array of liquid
Metallic Suspension batteries. The beam is emitted
from a fast discharge momopolar generator producing
a high energy pulse for 1/100th of a second during
the invisible light spectrum. Capable of 1200rpm.
Causes characteristic muzzle flash when the
superheated beam his the air opon leaving the
barrel. (this is the sucker Vasquez + Gorman _wear_
on their hips in Aliens)
Fletchettes, similar rail gun spikes except instead of
firing a single projectile, many small sharpened
peices of metal are shot out. Think of a rail gun
firing several smaller spikes at once. Can totally
rip and shred an unarmoured opponent but fare pretty
poorly on armored foes.
