How about a story that somehow gets that closing song to make something
approaching sense?

You should try the closing theme song to NG LAMUNE & 40    ^_^

I don't know this one.  How bad is it?

     Bad. Really bad.  The female lead character sings about how the 
male lead character goes about expressing his love, then how he 
should actually go about expressing it for her but  if he follows 
through and touches her, she says "I'll kick your  butt"! 
(Literally the last line of the song)  ^_^

<grin>  Sounds funny.  But it also sounds like it makes perfect sense.
You ever see Dragon Half?  The lyrics of the closing song are, well...
surreal is one way to put it.  Full-out bozo dada is another.
