Sorry for the back and forth flame I've been involved in, folks; I admit
to having replied a bit hastily (and perhaps with nasiter tone than was
needed) to the post accusing me of not knowing what FTP was (for a
software engineer who has helped put together network utils packs before,
that kinda smarted).
I'd like to thank Damon for phrasing what I was trying to say in a nicer
tone. My point is not that it's 'evil' to request fanfics on the list,
but that accessing the archives can be quicker (you can get the story
right away instead of waiting for someone to read your post and send it to
you), you don't usually get four copies of the same fanfic (with 100k
fanfics like Transitions, that can hurt a mail quota. And I'm sure some
of the people who requested Transitions got multiple copies).
