OK. There are two things to remember. Takahashi said that
Nanniichuan would cure Ranma (so, if you're in standard Ranmaverse, QUIT
SAYING NANNIICHUAN WON'T CURE RANMA!!!!). Also, PTarou never got hit
with Nanniichuan.

I'd like to point out that ANYTHING NOT IN THE MANGA OR ANIME IS NOT
CANNON, NO MATTER WHAT ANYBODY SAYS, EVEN IF IT'S TAKAHASHI HERSELF!! She
can ALWAYS change her mind for the sake of drama, or to be viscious to her
characters. If you say that something is cannon based on the sayso of the
author, and the author changes her mind and writes something to the
contrary in the manga, you're sunk. Best not take the chance.

Suppose that, after Takahashi's announcement, she re-examines her
statement. She comes up with the interesting storyline of the troupe going
to China and having (say) Mousse fall in the Nanniichuan, except that
instead of curing him, he becomes a man-duck. She then spins an interesting
storyline, puts it to paper, and publishes it in Shonen Sunday.

Meanwhile, everyone says that Takahashi says that the Nanniichuan would
cure Mousse, so when they open SS, they are completely surprised by
Mousse's new form. Nanniichuan cannon would then say that curses add and
not override, dispite her earlier assertion. R1/2 is still consistant.

This is why I will not take Takahashi's word for it.

That said, we cannot say anything about the behavior of the Nanniichuan at
all, since no one has fallen and/or was doused with that spring (it's
debateable whether the Instant Nanniichan is REAL Nanniichuan. After all,
the springs are permanent, and the instant stuff is one-shot). Is it
overriding, or is it culmative? No one can really say anything either way.
And Nyanniichuan is the same; so far, only _men_ have fallen into it. Will
it cure Shampoo, or will it turn her into a cat-girl? Well, until Takahashi
draws her falling into a spring and coming out completely human, you can't
say.

Remember, this is MAGIC! It doesn't act in a logical way, and Takahashi
knows this (it's pretty illogical that water will make you change into
something else, right?).

    So, this said, we can also come up with the possibility the curses
are cumulative with the exception of SOD-"normal form". i.e. Nanniichuan
for Ranma, Mousse, Ryouga, Genma, and PTarou and Nyanniichuan for Shampoo
would cure the people. Other springs, unless total immersion was achieved
would have cumulative effects. If there was total immersion, then I think
the old curse would be supplanted by the new one.

Again, there's no evidence either way.

Yep. Even in a pregenerated world like R1/2, you can twist and warp and
FUBAR the world to make it into your heart's (or hearts' ;) desire.

    Just make sure you don't claim it to be an extention or offshoot
to the original storyline.

You can't claim that the story is part of the original storyline if it
actually conflicts with cannonical material, but remember that "cannonical"
is a very narrowly defined term; its stuff in the Manga or Anime, nothing
more.

If it fits within the cannonical framework of R1/2, then it can be claimed
as an offshoot or extension of the original storyline. The Jyusenkyo curses
are legendary curses. Not everything reputed about them will be correct.
Much of the assertions made by the characters are really assumptions about
the springs that are unsupported by actual fact.

So if Ranma falls into the Nanniichuan and comes out a hermaphrodite, then
it's still cannonical, since there's no cannonical reason why he shouldn't.
