Well, in the final storyline of the manga, Akane is dunked into a
Jyusenkyou Spring.  She doesn't drown, but the spring becomes Spring of
Drowned Akane anyway, and the villain of that storyline uses the spring to
disguise themself as Akane and rejoin the others...  And Akane hasn't
picked up a Jyusenkyou curse as a result, so I'd assume the answer is 'no'
to this one. ^_-
