Well, it's one of the most memorable conflicts in the manga with a
lot hanging in the balance. It's also the only time Ranma was
ever *really* locked in his cursed form. The Cat Tongue did not
really lock his curse, but made it too painful to change casually,
and in the Gourmet Fighting storyline it was the corset that made
changing dangerous. Both of these obstacle *could* have been
overcome, given enough determination and taking some risks. The
Chiisuiton removed the possibility of changing entirely.

1/2_ (Provided I get my butt in gear again and finish all the
stuff in-between. :)
