Truth.  Most sharks cannot pump water through their gills, they rely on
movement to force water through.  It's an interesting definition problem
is it drowning or suffocation, or is drowning a subset of suffocation? 
Grey nurse sharks down here in OZ sometimes rest in 'gullies' which have
strong currents through them, water moves rather than them.  Also a
large active animal like a shark could possibly deplete the oxygen in a
small pond.. Hell of a curse, positivly lethal. 

). Regardless, being that sharks are
salt-water creatures (except for some oddball brown sharks which swim up
the mississippi river....), it would die in the spring from exploding cells.
