Ohayou, Richard,

On Mon, 30 Dec 1996, you wrote:

: To balance my Ranma poll, I thought I'd ask you to name your favorite
: non-Ranma fanfics.

Well, not much to choose from, then. I almost exclusively read
Ranma fics.

: Note that non-Ranma means "no Ranma or Ranmaverse characters at all".
: No crossovers - nothing.

Damn, that excludes one of my prime contenders. _Twisted Path_
part 3 is set in the BGC universe, but has some ties to the
Ranmaverse, because the first two parts were set there, and the
main character returns there at the end. :(

: This one will be simple compared to my Ranma poll:
:
: Question 1:
:
: What was your favorite single moment in any non-Ranma fanfic? Whether
: it made you laugh, cry, throw up, or some combination thereof, what did
: you like the best?

Quite possibly the waking-up-scene at the end of _Weapons of War_.
That one shook me up - I so wanted to be there at that moment.

: Question 2:
:
: Again, going to ask for your favorite non-Ranma fanfic in the following
: categories:
:
: A) Comedy

Eeenie, meeenie, miney... Err, Sean's Maison Ikkoku kill-'em-all
fic. Buggered if I can remember the title.

: B) Darkfic

I was about to write _The Circe Project_, when I remembered that
was a Ranma crossover. N/A, then, I guess.

: C) Dramatic/Serious Story

Your own Nuku Nuku fics, provided you let me count them to that
cathegory. _Like Fish to a Cat_ *was* more on the comedy side,
true, but you are basically a dramatic writer, so I thought what
the hell. :) (You *should* do more comedy, though)

: Question 3:
:
: For the heck of it, what's your favorite kind of non-Ranma fanfic - SM,
: BGC, whatever. Or don't you care?

At the moment I'm somewhat interested in BGC, and I'd never say no
to a Maison Ikkoku fic, but they are hard to do, so they are rare.

Otherwise, I don't actively seek out other series' fics, unless I
am interested in the author specifically. :)
