I know Mamoru Chiba, but who is Mamoru Kusinagi?  The name seems *extreme=

Well the "Mamoru" isn't correct if it's the character I'm thinking of,
   Major Motoko Kusanagi (from "Ghost in The Shell")
Assuming that I haven't missed some other more obvious reference of course.

Mamoru Kusinagi.  The Man with 7 Matama.  The really kick ass guy from Blue
Seed.  Try watching it.  It's a great goth horror/comedy series.
