I definitely agree that any romanization system (Whether 'o', 'ou'
or 'oo') is "correct", as long as it's used consistently.
Personally I use the 'ou' system, except for words that I consider
sufficiently ingrained in the English language to raise eyebrows
if romanized differently - words like "Dojo" and "Tokyo", for
example.
And of course I have to be *aware* of the correct Kana spelling
to romanize them at all.
I do admit, though, that I once search/replaced "Utchan" with
"Ucchan" in a fic for no other reason that it *looked* better to
my eyes. :)
