On the Ranma/Eddings amalgum:

My thoughts ran to what would work best if the story is being played up for
laughs and not a dramatic work.

Shampoo as Sadix

How about Shampoo as Salmissra!  Issa could be the Cat God andx so the story
goes.  (Of course, the amalgum story needn't follow the books precisely.  If
Shampoo is "cast" as Salmissra, I hope she'd be part of the story even after
her transformation.)  Moose should be that Nyissan assasin.


For Durnik.  How about Ukyo?  She seems to be the closest to a
salt-of-the-earth person out of all Ranma 1/2ers.  She could even be
disguised as a boy.  Of course, that leads to something spookyx  Tsubasa as
Polgara!   There is no one else who qould fit a Durnik/Polgra romance with
Ukyo being Durnik.

That's scarry, isn't it?  Although, if it could be pulled off, it would be
very funny.  And besides the Durnik/Polgara romance, Tsubasa would also link
with the shapechanging ability. 

But I've come up with something spookier than that: Asusa as Errand.  True,
she's greedy.  But somehow, her relentless greed has the "innocence" of a
two-year-old's.  And imagine what what name she'd give the orb?  Just don't
get to the point where she's deified!

And how abou the Jyusenkyo Guide as the prophesy.  He can appear and hold up
signs for when prophesies have been fulfilled.  

Nabiki could just be the Goddess of the Tolnabikans.

Kasumi would work as a Mimbrite lady, possibly the queen.  (Or, another idea.
 The only other characters I can think of who would match the Durnik/Polgara
romance paralels would be Tofu/Kasumi.  Aunt Kasumi?  Definately a far cry
from Tsubasa.  Both could be funny.  But Ukyo still seems the better Durnik.)

Also, two Dryaid suggestian:  Seing how Ranma-Chan's hair IS redx  Why not
the Pool of Drowned Dryaid?  It would make his relationship with "Ce'Akane"
(or whoever) a bit more intersting.
(Or, here's a radical idea.  Ranma in the Ce'Nedra role.  He could be the
Pince of Tolnsabiki in line for being Emperor Ran Ma XXIV or something then
fall in a sex-changing pool, go dryaid, and by treaty have to go off to Riva
for his 16th B-day.  I like the idea so much I had to mention it, but I don't
think it would work.  That's too much revision.)

Also, a non-Ranma cameo-Washu as the Queen of the Dryaids.
