Say, whatever happened to those fanfics which were alternate endings to
the Ranma 1/2 story? (There's supposed to be 3 of them; in one, Ranma
marries Akane. He marries Ukyou and Shampoo in the other two. The Akane
one is done but I have yet to see the other two.) I'm just dying to see
that one! :)

The reason you don't see many of those is because they're FARKING hard
to write without conducting major surgery on the Ranma 1/2 universe. It
may not be as obvious when you're just watching the show or reading the
manga, but when you try and write in Takahasi's universe, you realise
just how solidly the Ranma/Akane relationship is set. It's like trying
to swim up Niagra effing falls! I have yet to see a fic that puts Ranma
and Ukyou or Shampoo together without doing something that permanently
removes Akane from the picture first. And I'm not surprised. I certainly
couldn't write such a story believably.
