I know I promised a few of you that Part 7 of Chasing the Wind would be
ready by Sunday. Alas, this is not the case. I'm _almost_ done (18000
words so far), and as soon as I finish my email I'll get back to it.
You'll have it Monday afternoon (Hawaii time) if I have to go AWOL to do
it.
Oh God, no, don't go AWOL just for the sake of a fanfic. No fanfic is
worth it. If you can't finish it, you can't finish it. Please don't feel
obliged to disobey orders on our account.
Wayne Pillion may be right about them not shooting me, but I'm told the
Ford Island Brig is kinda comfy actually. (For a military prison)
Now that that's been said...
Just how soon after this one can we expect to see another installment
of "Chasing the Wind?" (I have a sneaking feeling it might be several
months...)
Part 7 was so big that I chopped off the end of it to start Part 8, so
don't fret.
Oh. Yeah. You give Ukyo to a character _you_ created or to anoyone
aside from Konatsu (as the artist intended), and it will go badly for
you. Compris? :)
Agszmot! I think Sean Gaffney was closer to the mark concerning Ukyo's
love life.
Go badly for me? What are you going to do, kill me? <rotfl>
You're talking to a guy who spent 17 hours at test depth (so deep I
can't tell you how deep, but let's just say well in excess of 800 feet)
in ocean water where the bottom was 21,000 feet straight down, with no
Trim Pump, no Drain Pump, no air compressors, air pressure in the
Emergency Main Ballast Tank Blow System a thousand pounds below the low
limit, with water up to the deckplates 'cause some moron insisted on
running the evaporator without using the HP Brine Pump to send the brine
overboard. But that's not all, let's just say we were in a part of the
ocean that may or may not have belonged to us <and could well have had
an acoustic-homing torpedo dropped on us for our troubles.>
I'm quakin' baby.
(Don't take this too seriously, Paul!)
