Agreed.  The problem is not that fanfic authors must slave under the
whip to generate stories from other serieses (WRITE! *wh-CRACK*)
but that the ones which ARE being produced are being discouraged.
This discouragement only breeds the Ranma As King Of The Hill
situation.  An author could go and write 37 fanfics on a variety of
serieses, but if this simple fact (nobody'll read them) remains, it
won't really help matters.

huummm...well, I think that folk read them, just not as many as will go
out of thier way to read a Ranma fic. And if you enjoy/ed writing it
that should be all that matters, neh? (Though feedback is a wonderful
thing! And I appreciate each and every response to my stories that I
get...thanks all!)

I personally am worried because my next project isn't from Ranma.
It's not even from an anime most people have heard of.  But I personally
like it, and it's funny (stop typecasting me as the Cobain of Fanfic! :),
and you don't NEED to know the source material to get it, and I'm
worried nobody's gonna bother looking at it.  Very unnerving since
this is my first story of any kind I've managed to see through in
about a year... I may simply insert this line into the subject or header :

Read this fanfic and send a comment or I will find you and I will kill you.

*laugh* Windlily scoots over and pats the scarcely populated bench for
little-known anime fanfic writers.

Don't worry, Stefan! You are a recognized name, folk will take a look,
