How amusing that people should defend Ukyou & Ranma under my title, when
I wrote the story to "raise the bar" for Ranma's other spouses.

Anou...  Your title used to defend Ranma & Ukyou?  Nanda?!

Ranma is deathly afraid of Akane in a way he is of nobody else.  The
sources make this very clear from the very start.  Any Fanfic that
ignores this, and simply pairs up Ranma with somebody else without
dealing with this central theme of the series, simply doesn't work.

Zen thinks this is a bit pompous, but, as it happens, Zenfics *DO* deal
with a lot of these issues....

Ranma has a phobia about love and commitment and the only person who
comes anywhere near triggering it is Akane.  And guess what, Akane has
it almost as bad back towards Ranma.  (Cue in "Leave a tender moment
alone" by Billy Joel here)

Maybe.... Maybe....

I have another trump for Ranma & Akane that I haven't seen anybody else
pull, but I'll first let the heretics try and write their favorites
around the pit first. (I wouldn't want to take unfair advantage :-)
