Subject: Akane preference....

Let me start out by saying the message below is overly harsh; I think
it's bad form to discourage someone from writing a story because it's
not to one's taste.

After "I'm a lesbian!" it started to suck.
I hate to say it but forget this little project and devote your time to
something more constructive, like relacing your sneakers.

This is really uncalled for.

One thing I would like to mention though, you really shoundn't be too
difinitive about one particular subject..."I was born this way!".

Well, it does have the good effect of moving the story past the
question of "why is Akane like this?"; if she feels this way there's
nothing to debate in her case.

That is a HUGE topic of debate. The argument over life on Mars
will probably be resolved first. There is an overwhelming
percentage of them who have had known sexual abuse at a very young
age and many feel that that is the cause.

That's news to me (as well as the fact that issues like this are
suitable for "debate" rather than the scientific method, etc. (not
that science stands a chance in such a politicized area))....

However, it is pretty well established that some *are* "born that
way" due to abnormal hormone balances during gestation.

I like to avoid such topics and it might be wise if everyone did. There
are a few homosexual characters in a comic book I'm writing, but I took
the precoution of making their pasts mysterious.

Or since this seems to have struck a nerve in you, it might be best
for you to ignore this thread/story, and let those who find it
potentially worthwhile pursue it.

I do agree that the story has hit a dead end; the Akane as a lesbian
may be overwhelming the Ranma and Kasumi aspect.

By the way, did anyone consider writing a fanfic about Akane & Ranma if
   Akane were a lesbian?

Now for something constructive---this raises some interesting possibilities:

A "straight" (pardon the term) adaptation where Akane falls for the
female size of Ranma and Ranma likes her enough that he accepts her
and his female half, and Akane accepts Ranma's male side. This one
would be tough.

And a Ranko 1/2 variation where the two end up together (or maybe this
is the straight variation?).

Both could make things socially, etc. easier for Akane; then again:
"Akane, you seem to have your arms around onna Ranma an aweful
lot...". On the third hand, that would add a new angle to the chaste
college roommates approach (where they'rd both officially girls in the
landlord's eyes)....
