The rationale behind the "Tendo Ranma" idea is that Nodoka already
heard that a Ranma lived at the Tendo dojo, so she might get a little
suspicious. Also, Nodoka doesn't know what Ranma looks like and
probably doesn't know for sure that Tendo Soun doesn't have a son. I
was planning to have \Ranko\ think of that idea (she may be wondering
why she thought of it in the first place a little later), and he would
have to stay "Tendo Ranma" after the harm's done.

If this were to happen, some interesting things could happen. For
example, Nodoka might try to get Masako and Ranma engaged (Nodoka
probably knows about the marriage promise, and she would take promises
seriously). At the very least she will think that Ranma was Masako's
boyfriend.

But the reaction to "Tendo Ranma" seems to be mostly negative, and I'm
not sure I could manage it properly, so I'll probably try the other
alternatives. Or maybe I'll try to write it both ways and see which is
better. ;)

Actually, my thinking was that Nabiki would have a rather legendary
reputation (about you know what) that she would be known at most
nearby schools. So it wouldn't necessarily mean that Masako heard this
from her friend. (Although I'm not sure I should have put that little
bit in there.)

I do plan to have Masako fight Kuno (though not because of
Nabiki). Anyone know how students of kenjutsu have a non-lethal match
between each other? (I saw somewhere that once you started to use a
real sword, you don't practice with wooden swords, because "toy
weapons make toy warriors" or something like that. It seemed to be a
respectable source.)
