It would be nice if everyone's like that, Misa. You're one of the very very few
people I know that actually C & C every single fanfic. People have good reason to
complain. I doubt if very many authors will get the kind of response L in L has.
Yes, I understand people are busy and everything, but after waiting for well over 2
weeks and still receiving next to zero response that gets kind of depressing. I, for
one, have been receiving 2 to 3 responses until lately. People don't need
overwhelming response, but I think everyone should get a decent share, like my
recent sequel of "Tonight's April Fool's" which got around 20 C & C from around 6 people
(almost all private e-mail).
I recently wrote a fic and didn't get more than two replies.
It was called "Back in '69" and I don't think YOU C&C'd it either!! :)
I am sure it is in my file... Like I said, many of us are VERY busy.
I think the only reason L in L gets so many comments is because it
is 10 parts long already and it has formed a little following. Just
as BG Cross, Descents and Inversions (whatever it is called now ^_^),
December's End, etc., all got a lot of commentary. If you write a
one shot, people might set it aside for a while. Give it at LEAST
two weeks and if you still don't have commentary, THEN ask about it.
Misa, you get a lot of C & C for more than that reason alone. Lesson in
Love was very well-written and also you're nice and you C & C just about every single
fanfic. My current theory is that people will C & C someone who was kind of to C & C
their story.
To whoever wrote Back in '69 (PhooeyNT, I think): I read your story but I
simply didn't like it. It wasn't even the story, but I just don't like the idea. It
just offends me, I guess. I didn't write back because I felt that this comment would be
no use to the author because I simply don't like the type of story you wrote. I know my
opinion was biased and I didn't really care about the story. I could have put "I hate
the story", I suppose. However, that probably wouldn't have helped the story because I
hate it just because of the idea, not the story itself. As I recall, the story was
actually pretty good, but the idea of the story, the way Akane died (she did die of
oxygen deprivation or something like that, didn't she?) just offended me.
