If I may jump to my own defense, "Storm's End" ends on a happy note. I
believe as you do, angst for the sake of angst isn't good. Not
everything has a happy ending, I know. But I prefer to use angst to
reveal things about my characters, not to go and depress everyone. :)

"Storm's End" is about redemption, about pulling yourself from the
depths of despair. Not that the journey is completed in the story,
there's still a long way to go. But you can see the light at the end
of the tunnel, as it were.

I just read this awful fic, "Childhood's End", which was needlessly
violent and depressing, having everyone dying for no reason whatsoever.
Those kind of 'fics don't turn me on. I do like darkfics, as long as
there's good characterization. Most people who do write these pieces
have a good sense of character, and just want to explore aspects other
than those presented in the anime or manga.

So there. :)

What was your story, Stefan? If it's got angst, I gotta read it. :)
