Just got an idea for a really dark fic, but I need to
know if Japanese society have either nursing homes or 
insane asylums, especially if all immediate friends and
family are dead.

Y'know, just hypothetically. ;-)

If so, how does care differ from US nursing homes
or US asylums?

I know the two don't go together, but what the hey.
