Next: Bring on the fiances! Kodachi is up next. She'll be handled a
little differently and faster. Then Shampoo (hee hee hee hee...) and
some time later Ukyou. Ukyou is not quite as interesting, but I have to
show her because her role is an important change from the normal
Ranmaverse, too.
Here i will take issue with you... There is wonderful potential here!
Just think - both were rised as boys - Ranko is likely to think favourably
of Ukyou in those terms, after all, they were friends, and when Ukyou
returns, she might just think happily about marrying. After all, Ukyou is
a boy.
Conversely, Ukyou thought Ranma(ko) was a boy as well, and she knew that
she was a girl, and would still have wanted to marry Ranma. Each is going
to want to marry the other, each thinking that his/her childhood friend is
a boy, and just *imagine* the fireworks when each finds out that the other
is really a girl! Particularly since Ukyou will encounter Ranma *as* a
BOY, courtesy of his curse, and not having seen him for ten years will not
know the difference betwen pre and post curse male Ranmas.
Ranma, of course, just assumes that Ukyou is male, and has to approach in
Ranko form - which will not have the expected result, as Ukyou is also a
girl. Just seethes with possibilities for misunderstandings before each
finds out the truth about the other.
Who know? Maybe Ukyou is broad minded enough to want to marry Ranko anyway
- after all, she *is* male half the time!

Ranko: Sweet lemons from Australia! Sometimes I think Kasumi is
having us all on.
BWAH ha ha ha ha ha ha!
*****
Ranko: Well, I was brought up as a boy since I was almost a year old
- what's *your* excuse?
This line is perfect. Absolutely *perfect*
*****
Ranko: [hisses] I may not be a real boy, but I know this: If a girl trusts
you, and you have a single shred of honour in your body, you don't betray
that trust. Akane trusts P-chan. Now, taking advantage of this to gain
access to her body would be an *ugly* thing to do. You won't betray her
trust. Do you understand me? Nod once for 'yes', turn blue and die for 'no'.
Thank you - This sums up muy feelings on Ryouga *perfectly* - Ranma makes a
darn *good* girl, ne?

of direction. Unfortunately, by looking over her shoulder she misses the
fact that there is a big, wooden tank of water ahead.
Another Freudian slip?

Dr. Toufuu: Yes, I believe it was right what you did. If a real boy
was suddenly turned female, the results would be grave. I can imagine
he would be insecure in his sexuality and therefor put on a big show of
machismo, always fighting others, never thinking about problems.
Homophobia would drive him to be hostile and aggressive to any male who
shows interest in his female side. He would probably entertain
relationships with many females at once, anxious to be reassured that
he is still attractive. On the other hand, he would be unable to
confess any true affection, for fear of rejection. [pauses] That is,
of course, just an educated guess, and it has no bearing on the situation
at hand. Ranma's memory loss is the result of a fight, you said.
ROFL... This is a *wonderful* dig. Just one question? At what point did
Tofuu sensei find out about Ranma/Ranko and the curse - heretofore it seems
like he has regarded them as separate people. (I know he knows in the
manga, but the circumstances where he learned it didn;t happen here, or am
I forgetting something?)
Ranma: No way! Think of last time we went here!
Akane: There's no other good restaurant around here, and last time
was a special case. There are no crazies following us today.
Come on and let's get this behind us.
WAITAMINNIT! Just what *does* Ranma remember about the last time? He
doesn't know anything about being a girl anymore, does he?
OK, I don't like the title of this part so much. I had also considered
the following quotes:
"We could learn from this"
"I will stay with her"
"I don't want to hurt her" and
"I look like a man!"
What do you think? Which one would be best?
Actually... none of them. I like the existing title to this section...
Boy - talk about your MPD - Jaclyn Hyde Syndrome!
Looking forward to the next part!
