Okay help me out here,

According to my map, It's on the southwest reigion of off of the main island
(Honshu, yes?). Also a long, long swim from there to China. If I were to
follow the story somewhat logically, Ranma & Genma would have taken the
shortest distance for thier swin  If the original swim started there, they
would have to swim between the rest of Honshu, Shikoku & Kyushu. 

My original plan was to have Ranma depart from Kanazawa, and then travel
along the border of North Korea & Russia into China. 

However...

Since Jusenkyo does not exist (does Jusendo? (Sp) ),  I can't plot a
'realistic' path for Ranma to take. Also Joe's Kobe suggestion gave me some
new ideas about why Ranma & Genma wound up swimming to China in the first
place, as well as a new humorous situation for Ranma's current journey.

Of course more input is appreciated.. ^_^..
