Have you tried using AD&D 2nd Edition Combat Rules? This is the easiest
system I've come across.
Huh? D&D combat (in any form) is simple attrition. You hit your
opponent or you don't, and the last person with positive hit points is
the winner. There's no real variety, and any time TSR tries to come up
with rules for "special moves" they just bog the system down. That
wouldn't really work in an Anime game; it's the wrong tone.
I would suggest a Palladium-based strike/parry system, combined
with a TORG-based damage system. You could even use TORG trick, taunt,
and maneuver rules, all of which are very Ranma-esque.
hey if you want some realy nice rules try looking at the combat system of
rolemaster. I know that it is very rules exesive but the damage system
is realy cool. It leaves a lot of room for both atrition and critical
strikes. If I were you I would use rolemaster combat spiced with some
rules for each persons special moves, aka fireballs or lightningbolts for
shishihokodan and so forth. but switch to another system for the rest
rolemaster being so time consuming. For much the same effect as
rolemaster look at merp middle earth role playing. it is just a simpler
vertion of rolemaster and much much easyer to use.
