I felt motivated to actually write the following notes on a BGC fic I
have in my head after talking to an OldOwl. My thanks go to her. This is
by no means all I have ideas about.

The story is based on a ShadowRun campaign that I went through with
some friends. I felt that with a little work the story could be adapted
quite well. I think that I should note that I based the Kyle in the fic on
my SR character (a physical adept).

I probably should write a bio of Kyle. It would help keep my facts
straight about what he has done.

SCENE: I want to start the fic with this scene. I want to show Sylvie
in a "dream" sequence. Until she shows up at the Hot Legs and remembers who
she is, I think that writing first person would do well. Start the scene by
showing how alive she feels. The feeling of the wind through her hair as
she rides her bike, the way the bike runs and the feel of the open road are
examples of what she would be thinking. The scene would end with a
questioning thought. Something like: "I haven't felt like this in..." I
shook my head trying to remember, unable to shake the feeling that something
was wrong.

SCENE: Probably going to be a short one. It would show an unknown
figure, later revealed to be Kyle, getting up from some unknown work. At
first, it would appear that he is talking to the empty air. However, he is
actually talking to his computer. He and the computer are "talking" about
finally getting the AI active. It will later be revealed that Kyle was
actually talking to Anri. Note that Kyle's father worked at the ADP and he
obtained them. Exactly how, I haven't determined yet.

SCENE: The setting shifts to XYZ Stock Brokers. Somehow, I want to
work Linna an appearance in this scene. Most probably would be gossiping
with a co-worker about the new boss. The new boss is Ash Valheru. He
bought the company about three weeks ago through Zarien, his aide. Ash is
looking over the place for the first time. Due to reason's given in this
scene, Zarien will be running the day-to-day operations of the place.

As Ash is being shown the various parts of his new company and
building, (he bought that too) he gets a call on his personal phone. This
call will introduce the major plot line. Anybody in the room will note that
the temperature drops rapidly when the phone rings. As the conversation
continues, the mood will grow to one of quiet dread. Everybody will end up
thinking the same thing: Making the new boss angry would NOT be a good
thing.

Unbeknownst, and never to be revealed, to the reader, Ash and the
caller, Kalzareinad, are dragons. (Magic will soon be returning to this
world. The quake just woke a few up early.) The entire conversation is in
the "draconic" tongue. Among the more educated people present (not that
anybody will hang around very long), the fact that Noone recognizes it,
will be a cause for concern.

The substance of the conversation would deal with the fact that
Narbrondel's gem has finally been tracked down. However, it appears that it
is now in the hands of humans. Kalzareinad will say that the reason it took
so long was that the gem was hidden where the Battle of Tan'nab took place.
Ash will nod in understanding. Kal will tell Ash that he has to continue
to track the gem through magical and mundane methods. She has to set up a
permanent ward and, at Ash's suggestion, a portable one. Ash tells Kal that
he will inform Silver of the developments.

Most everybody will have found one excuse or another to leave the area
by the time Ash is finished. He hangs up looking grim. He tells Zarien
that something of his has been stolen and that he is going to devote a
significant amount of time and some money toward finding it. Zarien then
asks who is going to handle the New York deal. Ash thinks for a moment and
tells Zarien that he overheard someone gossiping about their new "hunk" of a
boss. Ash would like a certain "Linna" to work on it.

SCENE: Takes place at Phoebe's Fitness Center. Kyle would be
introduced by name. He got a job here teaching martial arts to pay for
college. The scene would start in the middle of a class. After a few
moments, he hears a loud, boisterous, female voice complain about her car
problems, her suddenly increased workload, and her lack of a boyfriend.

Kyle thinks to himself or tells a friend that he is going to do
something about her. He tells Linna to hurry up and change so that he can
give her a good old-fashioned ass-kicking. She stops on her way to where
ever she was going and gives him what for. After an argument that the class
finds quite amusing, Linna accepts Kyle's challenge. Somewhere in the
argument, Linna agrees to take Kyle on a date if she looses. Something
about a b-day party for a friend. This argument will prove quite
interesting to write.

From their previous matches, the students have learned that the two are
quite evenly matched. However, it soon becomes apparent that Kyle is more
focused thus is probably going to win. Ten minutes or so of fighting later,
Linna is caught in a certain throw, grapple, or somesuch that allows Kyle to
plant a kiss square on her lips. She is stunned enough to allow him to
"knock" her out. Linna shoots him as scathing look as Kyle then quips,
"Anything goes".

Linna is too good natured to hold a grudge though. As Kyle helps her
up, he asks for her help in identifying a particular kata. In between
telling her about the kata, they discuss the bet they just made. Exactly
what is said kind of depends on how the earlier argument went.

The kata that Kyle is asking about is one he saw his grandfather once
teach. Kyle would go ask gramps, but he doesn't feel like seeing the family
just yet. This kata is going to be what allows Kyle to use the chi attack
later on. He will basically tell Linna that he feels that something is
missing. He thinks it is a hand movement or body position or something like
that. Linna is unsure of what it could be. Kyle and Linna would leave
together still "arguing" about the date.

SCENE: Haven't thought about this too much yet. It would take place at
the Hot Legs. The members of the Replicants are gathered about, talking
about how things are going in their plans for Priss's surprise birthday
party. I am still trying to figure out exactly who is going, who the band
members are, what generally is going to happen, and how to get Priss to
leave with Leon.

An idea is running around in my head to have Kyle ask Mackie a couple
of questions about boomers. (Mackie is Nene's date.) The answers will help
him finally fix Sylvie.

This is all I have time for today. I have a memorial day party to go
to. I thank you for you patience and hope that you can provide me with
insight.
