i don't think that cruel and unusual punishment is warranted ANYWHERE.
i am in favor of jail for a long time for rapists, personally...that
keeps 'em away and hopefully makes 'em sorry.

     How can you ever be sorry enough for the hell the victim has 
been though or is still going through. How could you ever test 
whether a rapist will rape again? 

 jail is no party.

the whole point of our punishment system, imho, is
2. to instill a sense of remorse in the
criminal and hopefully cause him not to commit crimes any more.

       "Hopefully" just isn't good enough. Only a definite solution 
is exceptable in these cases.
