   As the number of Sadfic's posted to the FFML increases, a 
problem begins to arise. Those of us with twisted senses of humor 
will publically congradulate the author on a brillant comedy, not 
realizing that the work in question was intended to produce tears. 
This is embarrassing for everyone.

   But never fear! The following checklist will help you identify the 
next Sadfic that winds its mournful way into your mailbox. If more than a
couple of these apply.....its a sadfic. If all of them apply....FTS.

"Very Tragic Story..."

OVERALL:
Characters other than Kodachi, Happosai, or Azusa die.
Happosai fails to die.
The story ends around a grave, rubble heap, or pile of corpses.
The story is set in the future.
The story is set after some great disaster (Nuke, earthquake, etc.)
The author warns you about the fic ahead of time.
Time travel is involved.
People are found hanging from ropes in the attic, clutching a copy 
of the fic.

RANMA:
gets pregnant.
gets raped.
gets deep fried.
goes insane.
marries Kodachi.
dies in any fashion.
gets stuck in female form.
gets stuck in male form. (Only tragic if your first name is Tatewaki)
must avenge a friend's death.
must avenge his own death.
causes a friend's death.
must avenge causing a friend to avenge causing his death.
talks about Akane in the past tense.

AKANE:
kills someone.
gets killed by someone.
kills herself.
marries Kuno.
has a dramatic scene by Ranma's corpse.
has a dramatic scene by anyone's corpse.
shows up on a autopsy report.
shaves her head.
is kept in a jar over the mantle.
is missing and presumed dead or nuked.

RYOGA:
manages to kill Ranma.
is discovered to be P-chan by Akane.
is turned into Moo Shu Pork.
dies due to loss of blood from a nosebleed.

UKYO:
marries Ranma, and builds a mutually joyful and happy life with 
him.(for Kun-chan only)
thinks about taking sleeping pills.
takes sleeping pills.
goes insane and tries to kill Akane or Ryoga.
goes insane and tries to destroy Nerima.
goes insane, period.
pines away for Ranma for the rest of her life.
catches a cold.
loses an eye.
gets charred to a crisp, but hangs on for a few hours.
is in a story where Ranma and Akane marry.
is bought out by a chain, and is assistant manager at "McUcchan's"

SHAMPOO:
jumps off a cliff.
jumps off a clock tower.
jumps off anything of sufficient height to make a pancake out of her.
marries Ranma. (not just for Kun-chan)
fails to marry, or at least sleep with Ranma (fanboys only)
has a falling out with Cologne. (see first 3 for possible meaning of
"falling out").
goes back to China.
kills another fiancee.
weeps over the dead body of Mousse.
causes aforementioned dead body.
dies of radiation poisoning.
dies of food poisoning. (potato salad, normally.)

KODACHI:
becomes a nun.
founds a church.
becomes the next Pope in the Vatican.
kills someone.
gets blown up. (actually, that isn't a tragedy. Strike that.)

NABIKI:
loses money. (Only sad from Nabiki's perspective)
sells someone out, with tragic results.
blows up Kasumi.
blows up anyone. (Well, maybe not Kodachi.)
gets blown up.
is put on trial by Kasumi's decendant.
is put on trial by the devil.
is put on trial by Judge Wapner.
is overly sadistic.
is identified via dental records.
runs a call girl ring.

KASUMI:
is killed in a tragic explosion.
is the sole survivor of a tragic explosion.
commits suicide, after telling everyone that they should do likewise.
burns the cookies she was making.
makes vague hints about child abuse.
kills innocent pieces of furniture.
carries a handgun for most of the story.

MOUSSE:
leads a band of mutant animals.
goes insane.
dies to save Shampoo.
is driven to suicide by Shampoo.
drives Shampoo to suicide.
does just about anything involving Shampoo aside from marrying her.
kills Ranma.
kills anyone.
