I totally agree. Shampoo is not quite as stupid and cold hearted as many
people think. I refuse to believe that she doesn't care about Ranma and
that she's just doing all this for spite. There is an episode where her
sisters LinLin and RanRan come to Japan to find out what's been happening
with their sister. When they find out that Shampoo hasn't killed
Ranma-chan yet, they decide to do it for her. Shampoo does all she can to
stop that from happening and even places the Kiss of Death on her own
sisters.
Where do they show up in the manga? I've never seen this part before.
I think there is depth to Shampoo that not many people realize
or wish to explore. What's wrong with being affectionate and bouncy?
Surely it's better than being dour all the time like Akane. If you think
Shampoo is too violent, than I suggest you take another look at Akane.
Why is her violence toward Ranma always condoned? From Shampoo's point of
view, she is as legally bound to Ranma as Akane is and so she's basically
taking care of what's hers.
I sort of agree with this. We probably need to see the world in the
character's view, not our view. So I guess what Shampoo does would be
justifiable in her point of view. At any rate, I don't believe Shampoo to be
stupid. She just always do things the wrong way. I'm planning to write a
fanfic to explore Shampoo's personality. Well, it is still going to center
around Ranma and Akane, but Shampoo's character will be developed also. Please
note, however, that I'm not arguing Shampoo is a better fiancee for Ranma or
anything like that. As to why Akane's actions are always condoned. Well, Ranma
hurts her a lot mentally and emotionally. After all, he is pretty rude to say
things such as tomboy or kawaiikune to his fiancee. So Akane fights back by
hurting Ranma physically. At least Akane doesn't try to kill people who got in
her way, unlike Shampoo!
