Well, this is my last plea to the author to keep Shampoo's purple hair
her natural color (i.e. Shampoo doesn't dye her hair purple). The biggest
reason is that we need something for the purple hair color to represent.
We have the stereotypes: blonde (the airhead), white (wise and
sagelike), and firey red (anger, etc). However, we have no basis for purple
other than Shampoo (the intelligent bimbo* --yeah, a little oxymoron, but
really that's what she is). If Shampoo dyed her hair, we'll need another
reason for purple to be the intelligent bimbo, and I don't see one handy. :)

* Kun-chan might kill me, but face it, the reason people think Shampoo has a
very low intelligence is that she doesn't speak Japanese very well. However,
it should be obvious that she speaks Japanese better than Ranma & Genma
spoke Chinese. Their problem wasn't a low IQ, but lack of common sense on
Genma's part, and a lack of options for Ranma. With Shampoo, she's not
completely stupid, rather, she doesn't have much experience outside of her
tribal customs. And we all know that her tribal customs are quite different
than normal actions.
