Yeah....yuck.....
During Christmas break, I rented a vcr and a bunch of anime and spent 
every night in the dorm's tv room.  I didn't have vol. 1 of Ranma, but I 
had some of the others, and on those the MS commercial just has a scene 
with mermaids swimming, then a shot of the mother lying on the floor 
bleeding and the little boy looking at her.  Much less gory, but 
more...oh, what's the word?  Chilling?
  It took me three days before I was able to bring myself to watch MS.  
(I hadn't seen or read any of the Mermaid saga, and I knew nothing about 
it....)
