Glasstone's DoD/AEC report was also published in 1957. In the real world,
I'm in the radiological safety field. The only thing I find Glasstone good
for is to laugh at the fallout shelter plans and the naivety of the authors
(when compared to what is available for use today), and to look at some very
scary pictures.
Can we drop the subject? Erin has corrected the glaring technical errors,
that anybody could figure out (the 400,000 km thing). Yes, I've seen one
that hasn't been fixed, but it's nitpicky, and I'm not going to let that get
in the way of enjoying what could shape up to be a good story.
