Ranko finds a spring that no-one's been cursed by yet (say, spring of 
drowned Flamingo) and jumps into it.  This frees the Spring of Drowned 
Man for Ranma who jumps into it, freeing the Spring of Drowned Girl for 
Ranko who jumps into it.

1)  They didn't think of it.
2)  They didn't want to chance it - they were just glad they didn't turn into 
a pair of hermaphrodites after they tried to cure themselves the first time.
3)  I can just say that the only pool that can affect a cursed character is 
the 'cure' pool.  Pantyhose Taro doesn't count since we're starting the series 
over again (and even then there are irregularities that doesn't exactly count 
him out).

As for Genma - who cares... he seems happy as a panda most of the time 
anyway.  And all of the others don't seem *too* worried about their curse 
(except Ryoga - if it weren't for P-Chan's access to Akane)

Ryoga hasn't even met Akane yet!
