Of course, that would also mean Ranma and Genma could never be cured at 
same time either...

Or more interestingly, Ranma and Ryoga couldn't go for a cure at the same time
either......

People would be able to get cured only if someone isn't currently cursed by 
the pool.  If Ranko had not been hit into the pool of drowned man, both Ranma 
and Genma could have cured themselves.

Of course, Ranma couldn't kill Ranko (even if he could definitely beat her).  
And Ranko will find a way to apologize to Ryoga on her own.
