Ok - I stand corrected. You *DO* like Robotech - which means I can't toast

You mean I *don't* get my drink? Bummer. ^_^

I read your FAQ and am now depressed - I liked the books a lot (still do)
and now about a 1/3 of the way through the series (finding the damn things
not in those 3-in-1 volumes is a bitch!). It is a shame that there are so
many discrepancies between the novels and the series - but I'll live with
it.

Hell, the books aren't bad when taken by themselves (a few
inconsistencies here and there, but that's to be expected over 21-odd
books). But they bear the logo "Robotech", and as such many of us feel
they should have been more consistent with the already-existing Robotech
Universe (ie, the TV series). Note that nothing is said in the FAQ about
the Shaping - that is an *addition* by McKinney which does not contradict
anything done previously and thus, though many (including myself) find it
tacky to the extreme, accepted as a self-coherent part of the McKinney
Robotech Universe.

I haven't seen much of the Robotech stuff and none of the original series
that it was cut from. *sigh*

Tapes are readily available from many people on the 'Net. Though I do
not condone piracy of commercially available tapes, I *do* realise that
some areas of the world are not as well serviced as others (OZ, for one).

As for M***** (I won't use his name) I like him for two (AND ONLY TWO!!!!)
reasons. 1) I'm impressed he actually came up with a coherent (well,
mostly) story from combining three totally seperate, non-connected TV shows,

Agreed. Considereing what he had to work with, the end result is
amazing. However, this does not change my personnal opinion of the
person behind the producer.

Quote from Dirty Pair Does Dishes :

"Here lies Carl Maycek, killed after a showing of Robotech: The
Movie. Boy, he must've really fucked up."

AARRGGHH!!! I've been trying to get that tape for *ages*. Where'd you
get it from?

On a sad note: I will miss Mr. Daley. Please tell Mr. Lucuano (sp?) that I
hope he contiues writing the series.

Luceno has announced that he is retiring. Book #21 "Before The Storm"
will be his last. Sorry.
