I agree...sometimes the dream thing works sometimes it doesn't...hech in 
Terminator 2 I didn't realize that Linda Hamilton was one of the happy 
motheres in the playground when she dreams about the end of the world...I 
always liked that scene but just never really looked at it I 
guess...Actually knowing that she was unable to warn her alternate self 
made it even creepier. 
 i'm not sure how I would have ended this particulair story myself...I 
mean the whole idea of Shanpoo asking Akane for help was good but I think 
that maybe having Akane actually stop Shampoo from leaving might have 
been an idea... Maybe a shot of P-ran in the background (unnoticed....or 
maybe seen by Ranma...) he waves...smiles but looks a little sad knowing 
that he has either negated his own existence or wil be returning to some 
alternate timeline where he is alone...yes he has stopped the actions 
leading to Akan's death here (and so some of the guilt for screwing up 
in his own time is removed or softened....) he knows that he has (and will 
always lose Akane but he has made it possible for her to survive and for  
(at least one version) him to be with her...

                                 I don't know...just a few ideas...
     I actually just logged on tonight 'cause I started getting the 
stomach flu the other night and just woke up feeling 70% (at least) better...
   now I can actually read YOUR fic and say something about it....
